will the dial alone close and open the latch, or do you have to use the key? This is for a shared bathroom with 2 entrances.

The dial alone will close the lock. Really the only complaint I had, was all the calculations I had to do to cut out for the components. There should have been a drawing with dimensions to guide us non-professionals! It's now installed, and I had to buy another component to allow pulling the door out of the cavity. The hook part (lock) shown in the picture retracts into the hardware when unlocked.
