Psoriasis-free for 5 years now.
I suffered from psoriasis on my legs for 5 years. I had a patch the size of a note that was fire-engine red. My parents were so concerned that they had a biopsy taken and sent to a medical lab to confirm it was indeed psoriasis. After a positive lab result followed by years of steroid creams, I researched the internet to find the most credible diet for clearing psoriasis. I decided to follow this one because there was a good number of chronic psoriasis sufferers who claimed that this diet didn't work because although it cleared their psoriasis, it was too strict of a diet to follow. Once they stopped the diet, their psoriasis returned. I knew I had the discipline to follow a strict diet at least for a few months, so I purchased the book. The book tells you what to eat and the potential causes for your psoriasis, mainly a 'leaky gut'. There are two recommendations I didn't try as part of the regime, colonics and chiropractic sessions. Since I didn't suffer from chronic psoriasis (it didn't cover my entire body) I thought I'd omit these from my plan if the diet worked. The diet did work and my psoriasis was cleared mostly in two months and completely in four months. I gave up alcohol and coffee when following this diet, although Dr Pagano does allow coffee in the diet, I didn't think the acidity would be good for healing the gut. I have introduced coffee and alcohol back into my diet and have not had the psoriasis return, although I believe chronic sufferrers might need to follow the diet for life.I think Dr Pagano is the most credible specialist in healing psoriasis and highly recommend his diet. It's worth a try and even if you're not able to stick to the diet for life, it's worth a try to find out if there is a way to clear your psoriasis if your condition worsens.

Brilliant read!
This book is very good for those who suffer with psoriasis. I was reading the feedback below of a guy who has been suffering for 20yrs. I have also bough another book, alongside this one called “foods that fight pain by neil barnard -m.d. My advice would be that , all the books you read give you good advice , you are what you eat without saying. The journey isn’t going to be smooth for those who love the foods they eat, the habits they have created. The foods we eat these days have so many additives in we don’t know about. We should be eating foods seasonally and by colour. If we did this we wouldn’t have to pop vitamin pills believe me I have did elimination diet about 10yrs ago, got rid of stresses and which coursed my body to break out in psoriasis and I was also diagnosed with arthritis. Like most people I thought I couldn’t do this when I looked into healing myself ,alternative to popping pills. I took doctors advice, took pills for over week, and ended up in hospital because I had allergic reaction.I knew I had no choice from that point because this isn’t what I want to do rest of my life. I bought this book ,also “foods that fight pain”, also Margaret hill on arthritis. Went shopping for fruit and veg by the colour and seasonal. I planned my meals for ten days. I drank 2 litres of water a day, camomile, nettle and fennel tea. I drank in a half glass of water - spoon full of manuka honey (mgo 500) aspals cider vinegar (tbls) mix it up and down it on empty stomach in morning half hour before breakfast. I did this for ten days and followed my diet ( evening meal of steam vegetables). I got rid of my psoriasis and got my skin back to normal which was all over my body even my head. When you do the elimination diet, it’s all about getting your body’s PH balance right. You don’t have to give up all you favourite foods and drinks forever!, Once you accomplish this you can dip in and out of the diet . If you can have 90% of veg in you diet you will be fine, also read up about oils that you use to cook foods and how they mix with your blood. The bottom line is you are resetting your body. 8 to 10 days isn’t life sentence! Trying to live with conditions feels like is. So give it a go and stick to it and you will be pleased you have achieved it. I flip back and forth. Everything thing in moderation. Ps. You also could be lacking vitamin D. I take vitd3 with k2.

great book - helpful and clear
This book has really helped me understand my psoriasis. There are different ideas out there in the psoriasis world, and this one has some strict, but well-explained ideas. I didn't follow all the ideas - e.g. I've not had a colonic irrigation! But I've followed it quite a lot and it has really helped my psoriasis of 10 years (big patches all over my legs and some on my arms). It has cleared a lot, the itching has almost 100% stopped, and it is starting to fade.Dr Pagano has really good and encouraging things to say. He also explains how he knows that psoriasis can be cured from within, as that is how it's caused. It's not just diet - he has recommendations about things like chiropractic help and mental attitude, too.I would say that you need to be prepared to try for a number of months - it is instant for some people, but definitely not for all, and wasn't for me. I followed the dietary ideas for 6 months before I noticed a significant and unarguable change. So it requires patience, self-care and some changes. But I've had psoriasis for 10 years, so what are a few months to heal myself from it.I've tried the steriods etc in the past, and you can use conventional western medicine at the same time as trying Pagano's ideas. My experience of strong creams is that my psoriasis always came back, and medication like that brings other problems. This is about healing from within so that it doesn't come back. And I totally recommend reading this if you or someone you care for (e.g. a child) struggles with the upset and distress that psoriasis can bring.
