The specimens were pretty good- but it would have been good if their roots had been a tad longer.I have kept these before and keeping them down until the roots are well established can be a real battle- especially in a tank with fine substrate. The reward for going with a fine substrate is that carpeting plants get basically indefinite surface area.With this plant, should it get going, it can really carpet.

I recently purchased six packages of hair grass, and I'm extremely disappointed with the quality. All six packages are nearly entirely brown, with only one showing a hint of green. This is not what I expected based on the product description and photos. The overall condition of the grass is unacceptable and far from fresh. I cannot recommend this hair grass to others based on my experience. At least the Cabomba Caroliniana (The top) still has some salvageable stems.

I was worried about the shipping process damaging the plants, but these were great! They were exactly like the pictures and came in a vibrant green color. Planting them was a little difficult because it separated into so many pieces. I wish I could show a picture of them, but mine didn't make it in my tank setup. It's my fault they died because I'm a newbie aquarium owner. I think they would've really thrived if I was more experienced.
