Love this product - works well
The Joseph Joseph Intelligent Waste Titan Trash Compactor Kitchen Bin arrived on time and works very well. I'm happy with the product overall. The only thing I’d mention is that it came with two very strong bin liners, it would be great if more liners were included.

Very good
I was a little doubtful this would be as good as the promo says but after a good few months I’m very happy with this bin.I only use for paper and card but I can honestly say it does it’s job very well.We used to fill about 2-4 bags of paper/card recyclables between our 2 week collection now we use a maximum of 1-1.5 bags.Yes we need to break up larger packaging to fit but as I say this is a kitchen bit not an industrial compactor. We are now looking at buying 2 more one for plastics and one for general wasteOur standard recycling bags fit very well in this bin.The build quality is greatThe size is perfectAnd looks great.

Form over Function (1.5 year review)
It does its job and looks good doing it with a sleek stainless steel and black plastic finish. Admittedly the compaction feature is a bit of a gimmick since most waste expands back up to its original size if you just compact it briefly, though I have found that if I compact overnight it does seem to do a better job. The compaction is all manual and uses the handle at the front of the bin to push down on the waste.Fortunately, I have not yet experienced the compaction mechanism failing like some other reviewers, and it is good to know that there is a 10 year warranty on my bin should the worst happen. On an side note, be prepared to watch guests yank at the prominent compaction handle when they try and use the bin for the first time instead of using the foot pedal. The bin has a small plastic handle around the back that helps you move the bin around if you need to, and the soft closing lid snaps into the open position for when you need to change bin bags/give the inside a clean. Cleaning the bin is very straight forward and the lid also has a little compartment to put some odor neutralizers into if you so desire. I have found that most slim pedal bin liners work well with the bin and have not had to use the Joseph Joseph originals. Regardless of what binbag you use, some care needs to be taken when removing the bags as the compaction mechanism tends to catch on bulkier bits and can cause minor tears. My biggest gripe with the bin is the fact that the stainless steel is quite thin and has been bent over a solid plastic frame. If you put a dent in the stainless steel which can happen easily if you drop something onto the lid or even the foot pedal, there is no way to repair it from the other side thanks to the plastic. It is a shame that such an expensive product has such poor reparability/durability. For this reason I can only give this product four stars.

Absolute rubbish. Does not work as advertised.
Firstly. I bought this as bin collection is now monthly, but as I cannot produce less waste, wanted to produce the same amount within a smaller area (more in the wheelie bin) and as a compactor the Joseph Joseph bin is meant to make this process easier and cleaner. I can tell you, it does not. Yes, it could be a little cleaner, but the mechanism is so weak that pushing with the force I use with my 'manual bin' would break the it. It also inflated the bag when compacting resulting in ripped bags and limited compression. The bags I am pulling out of the Joseph Joseph bin, compared to my 50lt manual bin are less than half the weight (7kg Vs 15kg) and are tiny when compared. The advertising states 90lt into a 30lt bin (I did not expect 3x but I did expect some noticeable difference). Going off the weight, this is not even close. I would say I get over twice into my normal 50lt bin when compared to the 30lt Joseph Joseph. I'm aware my 50lt is 66% bigger, but it fits over twice into it when compared to the Joseph Joseph. This means the Joseph Joseph total 30 is actually worse than my existing manual bins resulting in me emptying the Joseph Joseph ever 2 days, instead of every 5-7 days with my existing bin. I truly did not expect this.I wanted to love this bin and truly hoped it would be good. However, it is absolutely pointless and does not work as you will expect.£200 is an absolute joke and Joseph Joseph should be ashamed of themselves!

A definite winner.
Was a bit worried about spending so much on a bin but once I got it you can see the wonderful quality and sturdiness of it. It really does save you from having to empty the bin so often which for someone disabled or older it’s a godsend. It’s a very easy mechanism to operate and easy to change the bag when it does get full. A definite winner.

No more overfilled wheelie bin!
Like many around the UK we are restricted to one 120l wheelie bin of general household waste emptied every two weeks. However careful we are to recycle everything there is always more rubbish than the 120l bin can hold. So a trip to the tip was needed every so often. The compactor bin arrived in super fast time and is very attractive. The fitting of the bags took a few attempts to master but now is no problem at all. I compact the waste as I go and although this new bin is the same size as my old swing bin I get three times the waste in the same space. I find I can easily fit 4 of the full, compacted, bags into my wheelie bin. Although I haven't filled more than three as yet. Very pleased with this excellent product. A bit pricey but a high quality product and I am greatful for all the saved trips to the tip!

Not worth the money
Totally over priced for what it is. The lid doesn’t open properly. For me it’s just to fussy

Pricey , but worth the money
I always thought Joseph and Joseph items have hypes around them, and kinda overpriced. But since we bought it, I reduced the almost daily emptying of the bin only 2 times per week. A massive achievement! It’s easy to use , lots of bin bags are also fit into it , but the H&M bin bag is very strong. I wanted this bin for a while , and so happy to own it!
