Staple in party games
This is a fun, very relatable party game for casual people. This won't keep your board game geek friends entertainded, but it's perfect for your sorority sisters. It's easy to learn but how you play is always different. Works well for playing with kids, or for adults who can take it in more mature directions.

Easy to learn that welds a group together with laughter
This is the "travel edition" of a larger board game...and a perfect size for taking to a group gathering. It is easy to learn; instructions are in the box and also on you tube. The joy is the quick pace and the addition of the wild cards and "cascading" add surprises just when it seems the game is being conquered. The only draw back is that the two decks are good for a couple times; the addition of the other decks included in the board game will be helpful if using this during a week at the beach. This is suitable for teens through senior adults. It may be frustrating for younger kids since it draws on vocabulary, experience and memory. It is an easy, fun pick-up game that brings groups together through laughter.

Think Quick
Anomia plays off that your brain works a little differently under pressure! This game will make you think fast. I really enjoy it but cant seem to stay interested more than one or two rounds with friends. It seems to be more of a filler during game night than a main one. It is great with friends or family. There are some categories I just don't as well which makes this not as fun for me.Summary: Does the symbol on your card match one on another player's card? If so, you must quickly face-off with the other player by giving an example of the person, place, or thing on their card before they can do the same for yours. If you blurt a correct answer out first, you win their card and drawing continues until out of cards.Directions: Draw a card from the center pile and flip it over. Does the symbol on your card match one on another player's card? If so, you must quickly face-off with the other player by giving an example of the person, place, or thing on their card before they can do the same for yours. If you blurt a correct answer out first, you win their card and drawing continues. Sounds simple, right? Wrong! Wild cards allow unlike symbols to match, increasing the number of things you must pay attention to. Cascading face-offs can occur when you hand over a lost card revealing a new top card on your play pile. All this adds up to a high-energy, hilarious play experience where everyone is involved at all times. The Goal:Collect the most cards. The Setup:Shuffle one of the 2 decks and create 2 draw piles in the center of the table. The Play:The starting player draws a card from either deck and flips it face-up in front of them. Each additional player does the same thing. Watch for symbols that match, when a match occurs, the players whose cards match much shout out an answer that matches their opponent's card. The winner collects their opponents card and places it in a collection pile in front of them. Play continues with the next player.Wild cards will add additional symbols to watch for, so face-offs happen more and more frequently. Once a card has been collected, it will reveal the card underneath, which often leads to a casade of face-offs. Pay attention!Game End:When both draw piles have been depleted the game ends. Each player counts the number of cards won in face-offs, the player with the most cards wins!

It's My New Favoritest Game
Reviewed by a member of the Sacred Heart Gaming Club West Des Moines, IAAnomia was an appealing game that I got genuinely involved in. The goal was to collect all the cards by using your random knowledge! Each player begins their turn by drawing a card from a the draw pile. As soon as an opponent draws a card with the same symbol your card has, you have to name an example of a the word on your opponent's card. So, if your opponent’s card said “rocketships”, you could say Apollo 11. If you say your example first, you get the opponent's card. That card is worth one point for you, and is removed from the game. As you draw more cards, you place them on top of each other. Their are also wild cards, which add another level of complexity to the gameplay. They do it by making different symbols match each other as if they were the same symbol.I really loved this game! It was so captivating, I spent the rest of the day telling my (confused) friends that I had won this game with a weird title. You will love it so much your victories will be exhilarating and your defeats will be crushing.I loved every part of the gameplay, but I will explain my favorite parts of Anomia. The use of random knowledge makes you feel GREAT when you can use some random fact, like knowing a business mogul. The game is even more exhilarating when you have two in a row, due to a person losing the top of their stack. It is also cool to have to watch all the cards of your opponents. I would recommend this for anyone, but the two best groups to play it with would be a group of friends and then a family. It may also not be the best for anyone who does not like to be stressed, but that is the only downside to this game.
