Great UV Filter for My Sony DSLR – A Must-Have for Lens Protection
Before getting this Amazon Basics 55mm Circular UV Protection Filter, my camera lens would get dirty often, and I was almost about to scratch it. Since replacing a camera lens is far more expensive than buying a UV filter, I decided to get this one—and it was the best decision! The filter fits perfectly on my Sony DSLR lens and provides great protection against dust, dirt, and scratches. It also helps reduce haze in bright outdoor conditions, and best of all, it doesn’t affect image quality—my photos remain sharp and clear. The build quality is solid, and it screws onto the lens smoothly. For just £8.54, this filter is an absolute bargain. It’s a small investment that saves a lot of money in the long run by protecting my lens from potential damage. I would highly recommend it to any photographer.

Does the job.
For a cheap option these provide protection for you lenses and do have some effect on UV haze. For the price can't really fault them.

Good dust and moisture protection
Even after watching videos and hearing what people had to say about these filters, I was really unsure about buying one, I didn’t know if it was really necessary and if I’d be wasting money. The main reason I wanted one was to prevent dust from getting on the camera lens and also to protect it from any rain drops that might get on it. I’m glad I bought one, it does protect the camera in the ways mentioned. It could protect from other damage, but I do know these filters are quite fragile and if broken could possibly end up doing more harm than good, but if you’re careful I think it’s a good thing to add on to the camera lens. I like that you can still put your lens cap on too, I thought I would have to remove the filter to do that. The 55mm is a perfect fit for my lumix fz82 and if it makes any difference to picture quality I haven’t really noticed. As for the UV protection, I will have to try it out in different lighting conditions to see if it makes any difference... So 4 stars for now.

Yet another quality product from Amazon Basics.
Well priced 58mm UV lens.Have noticed absolutely no difference in image quality even when pixel peeping. Most people get these not only for UV reduction but for an extra layer of protection on your expensive lens.Pocket change for a layer of protection against drops and (more likely) scratches/smudges on your lens.As the name suggests, it's part of the AmazonBasics brand which so far in my experience have been offering well priced, quality products for every day needs.Comes in a sturdy plastic casing which can be reused for another filter (multiple thread lengths) you want to protect so a 2-in-1 product. You'd be silly not to get one!

52mm UV filter - essential
An essential purchase for you lens, to protect the front element from dirt, fingerprints, smudges or impact, if nothing else. This Amazon basics filter arrived in a plain cardboard box, with an unmarked plastic case inside that should fit a variety of filter sizes. Fits the front of my lens easily and securely and allows the lens cap to fit normally as well. No noticeable effect on optics, just an added layer of protection for the front of the lens (and you don't mind giving it a good scrub if it gets dusty).

Excellent Value and Protection
There is so much nonsense written about UV protection. What has changed since the days of film and flarey UV shots is that most Digital cameras have sensors with a degree of built in UV filtration, combine that with modern lenses that have multiple coatings on each element reducing both UV and other image degrading effects from stray light and the UV problem is minimal, (unless you happen to live high in the Andes) . What has n't changed is the fact that you are going to whack your lens on a table one day... or drop it...or take a shot and get covered in sea spray and a UV filter is going to save your lens. That simple fact, along with preventing dust and smudges directly on a lens which will cause image problems, make a UV filter the cheapest and most sensible addition to every lens.

Nice basic lens protection
Amazon has done a reasonable good job in packaging this product. It arrives in a basic card box with no frills, and totally recyclable. The lens arrives in a plastic protection box that looks like it can be used for a variety of lens cover sizes. This is a 58mm lens which I am using on a m.zuiko 40-150mm lens.Lens protector is clear and for my level of photography meets my needs. It does not impede fitting the lens cover over it or putting a lens hood on.Screws on perfectly.I’ve taken a few indoor shots with and without it and I see no distortion between the two. This helps in trying to keep to a budget and protects my equipment, while still taking good shots.Nice new addition to my bag.I understand that UV filters cover both UV-A & B
