Simple but excellent for making burgers
This product is very simple and makes great burgers easily. Trying to shape and press burgers together without this has always been a bit tricky resulting in burgers that fall apart a bit. I used to use flour to hold them together and stop them sticking to each other but that made for floury tasting burgers. With this you put a dollop of your mix in with a wax disc top and bottom, press it and the result is a burger. One of the great things about this is it comes with the wax discs and this means it is really easy to store them in the freezer. I found that you can separate them quite easily when they are frozen so the discs work well. The burger size is pretty good. If you are hungry eat 2 burgers! As others have said it all comes apart and is easy to wash. I didn't get any problems with the mix squeezing inside it either (like some people have mentioned). When you first use it you tend to try to press the heck out of it but that is not really needed to compact a burger.I have made beef burgers so far but think it will be great for making veggie burgers which I always struggle to shape.I also think cooking burgers that have been frozen first (on the grill) helps keep them together and lets the chilli flavour get stronger.Nice when something so simple is so useful.

Perfect burgers every time
I could never make a shapely burger. But since I have my Kitchen Craft Burger Maker, my burgers are nice, round and even all over and the children like them because they ''look just like the shop ones''. Ok, I had a few tries to get them right but now, I think I got the hang of it and I know how much mixture to put in to get great burgers. The downside is that the burgers are on the small side and of course, when the burgers are cooking, they shrink a bit. Perfect for children bite size, but maybe not for adults or teenagers, unless they are on a diet. The solution is to make two of them, like a double decker.A reviewer was saying that they do not come apart. They do. You just have to unscrew the top knob and everything comes apart for washing. At first, I was trying to pull it apart but it would not work, so, my Hubby showed me the trick of unscrewing it.p.s. If you do not want to have to buy the wax discs when the one supplied finish, just buy some greaseproof paper and cut disks out of it. It is the same. It takes a bit of work though but if you do not mind, it is fine.In all, a good little tool very useful in the kitchen to get the ''professionally made'' finish..

great little time-saver
I bought this after a Nigella recommendation (not specifically for this product, but simply for any burger maker), slightly dubious that burgers could be made any simpler to make. However, I am a complete convert. For me, the best thing about this product is the consistency of shape it provides, the compactness of the meat once used, but ease with which you can store the burgers once made. This is made possible by the use of the circular wax-paper discs that are provided with it - they mean that I can now quickly make any number of burgers at once and then store them between their wax discs in freezer bags. It's cut down on any kitchen wastage and meant that our portion sizes are smaller also! That aside, the other benefit to having equally sized burgers (which I hadn't previously considered an issue) is that they cook much more consistently, and therefore it's much easier to get them cooked just the way you want - no more one-burger-that-is-slightly-singed and another that is slightly underdone. It's easy enough to clean, and the wax paper discs ensure that there isn't too much food left to scrub off.A good all around product at an acceptably cheap price, and on Prime also, making it extra convenient to buy.

Nifty little item!
I have tried out my Kitchen Craft hamburger maker and was really pleased with the result. I was a little heavy handed with the quantity of mince so ended up with 2 dinosaur burgers I made myself! But next time I will know better and either make them slightly smaller or just have the one! The burger maker really compresses the mince well and keeps the meat lovely and moist when it is cooking because it doesn't fall apart. it will be great for the summer or even for mums with burger loving kids which is probably about 95 percent of the population! It makes lovely wholesome burgers for a fraction of what you would pay for frozen ones. Last time I used it I made burgers for me and packed the rest in the freezer for whenever. I think next time however, I will open freeze them, then place the wax discs between them and then put them in a freezer bag. They tended to get a bit squashed down as the meat was still soft so will probably have to defrost the whole lot so will wait for bar-b-q time! The burger maker is well made, compact, easy to wash and a great price. Well worth 5 stars.

Not the easiest to clean!
Makes the burgers lovely, easy to useOnly problem I found is its not the easiest to clean.Meat gets stuck under top plate and then takes ages to drain all the water out.Wouldn't recommend for this reason. I'm currently looking for an easier one to clean giving its raw meat your using ,
