Fitment to rear BMW E46 3 series convertible, modified DIY mounting ring
Excellent speakers for the money, rear BMW speakers sounding awful with new head unit so decided on changing. These are the only speakers I could squeeze in the rear of my E46 3 series convertible BMW and had to make my ownMounting ring out of MDF to accommodate so please note these will not direct fit to this modelCan’t speak for other applications.Sounds great, gives nice bass and top end, no vibration or rattles on high volume once mounted correctly. All in good for the price, very please with results.

Excellent clarity and live up to power ratings.
Really impressed with these alpines. They are very natural sounding and have good sound reproduction.Bass is there but if you want chest pumping bass, i'd suggest you get a dedicated subwoofer.I've installed more than one set so given my experience with these, i'm happy to reccommend them.

Very, very clear and bright sounding speakers. Lack any bass response.
Good quality speakers that sound very, very bright. I have tried these in an enclosed case and a case with a sub tube for the purpose of a BoomBox. The sound quality is extremely clear, bright and full of treble with next to no bass. I've tried with 2 class D amps (50w x 2 and 100w x 2 ) and both amps using these speakers sound harsh and lacking in any bass or depth of sound. Maybe they will mellow with age? Using the same amps on Pioneer 4" coaxial and Alpine 6x9" and Bassface 5x7" sounded better to listen to, far less treble and a better, more rounded sound stage. Even running these with an 8" subwoofer they still sound too edgy.

Brilliant sound quality
Note that these are NOT component (separate) speakers as it says in the page title, they are 2-way coaxial (combined tweeter and woofer) speakers. I knew this prior to buying, just pointing it out!I bought them to install in the rear of my car that didn't have any rear speakers as standard, to go with the (actual) component version of these speakers (Alpine SPG-13CS 's) that I bought for the front. I only bought them for the benefit of the rear passengers, and the fact that I wanted them to match the front ones, but I have to say the sound quality is excellent! Miles better than the stock speakers. If only I had made this upgrade earlier! And I haven't even got the front ones in yet!I'm just running them off an old 4x45W (peak power, RMS is 4x20W) Panasonic head unit and they sound great. Crisp and clear. They go as loud as I have been able to bear without distorting, which is expected given the high RMS power rating. I think I'll probably put off getting the amp I was planning on getting for a while. Bass is good, clean and punchy, I was genuinely surprised for such small speakers. Obviously if you want serious bass you need a sub, but I think I'll be happy without to be honest. If you're still running stock speakers, buy some of these or similar, you will not regret it! The difference is staggering. Rated at 50W RMS these are relatively upgrade proof as well, they should be able to handle the power from a small amp should you decide to get one, unlike some of the cheaper 13cm speakers. You get what you pay for, also ignore peak power ratings as they mean nothing. The RMS power rating is what's important. If you have a bit more cash I'd recommend components over coaxials, especially if you're looking for front speakers (the ones you as the driver will benefit from the most!). But these are still a very good buy and much simpler to install if you prefer. They are definitely more than adequate as rear speakers, and even as fronts you will not be disappointed. All in all I am a very happy customer! Hope this review is helpful :)
