It is what it is intended to be
If you have read the other reviews, you may have a negative impression of this little kiridashi. The other reviews are true, to an extent. Was it wrapped in some cardboard and then covered with saran-wrap style plastic?Yes.Was it slathered in oil?Yes.Is the handle roughly finished?Yes.Is the sheath super tight?Yes.Was the point sticking out so it could stick me in the palm when I tried to unwrap it?Yes, it was, and it did.So, why would I give it five stars?First, if you have purchased any BPS knives, you know you are not paying for the packaging. They are minimally packaged; wrapped in plastic and in a plain white box.You are paying (a bargain price) for the excellently sharpened, crazy-good Ukrainian steel. This steel will take abuse and hold an edge far better than it has any right to based on its spec.s.It's carbon steel. Carbon steel can rust. So, they ship it covered in oil.Yes, the sheath is tight. If you want the knife to come out of the sheath more easily, put the lanyard on the end for some extra grip, and *leave the oil on the knife*.I know what you're thinking, "I'll get oil on whatever I'm cutting".While I suppose you could whittle something with this knife, it seems to be designed as a very light, easy to conceal, last ditch emergency defense knife. If you have to use it for that, you won't care that it has some oil on it.For the purpose this is likely to be used for (dire emergency defense, or emergency knife in an Altoids tin kit) this is just about ideal. And while the handle might be rough, the edge is mirror polished and it's razor sharp.Ultimately, that's what I'm paying for.`

My second knife ordered from BPS Knives and it's a tiny bit of awesomeness
My second BPS knife after buying the Techno Bee and I'm liking this thing already. In the box: knife in cardboard to protect it (think it was in plastic wrap too but was excited and might have tossed it while cutting things), sheath, mini-paracord lanyard, knife sticker and BPS knives sticker with QR code and a napkin.Came sharp enough to shave into the napkin it came with (in case you want to wipe of some excess oil - but leave some on to protect it) and the sheath is NOT gonna let it drop out or wiggle loose. I wasn't sure about where to attach the mini paracord lanyard so did a best guess, but can always make another or move it if I change my mind about it.Knife feels sturdier than it looks, the 'rough' finish is kinda nice looking - every one of them will be unique. Sharp and made for easy cutting through everything I tested it on including a live branch and some dead wood from a tree outside. The jimping behind the blade GRABS your thumb for extra grip while making a push cut and isn't uncomfortable but does let you know it's there so you won't slip, and I've already used it to open some boxes, and even used it to get sparks with a ferro rod - the outer edge wasn't as 'sparky' but the INNER part of the handle was perfect to draw through and get a really good shower of sparks.Probably going to order at least 1 or 2 more for emergency stash knives and one for my son.

Not for the faint hearted
Vicious little buddy! Is small, surgical and sharp as f. Like the other BP minimalist edc it's a bit rough but you can in a sand it w/ a 60 grit sanding sponge then the handle won't snag clothing ect.i added a clip to the sheath .Not kidding it's really easy to mess yourself self up being careless. Support the Ukraine hand made edc and enjoy

Packaging was poor/knife was what it was
The blade was sticking out of mine and got me as I rummaged the bag. Thankfully the company shipped the thing with a large napkin (I assume to wipe off oil) that sopped up the blood. The blade is just a shiv that has little use outside of a last ditch stand or a prison shower scene. That said, it is very concealable if not easily deployable. I’ll keep it as I don’t feel like dealing with repacking it with biohazard stickers.

Very nice overall, wish sheath was a bit tighter but that's it. Cool & nice!
Pretty cool & slick little knife.Very, very unique - never seen anything like it.Only con / nitpick I can make is I definitely wish the sheath was tighter & retained better. It's also a tiny bit awkward to carry; kinda too small to belt carry, but if you pocket carry, when you tug on it to pull it out, the sheath will definitely stay in your pocket, which can be dangerous. It did come with an Ulticlip and the paracord fob / dangler you see pictured, so that's super cool.Overall, I like it & happy with it.Oh; it came absolutely scary razor sharp, and the edge was literally mirror polished. Never seen anything like it on a factory blade. Truly remarkable!

Small, Nice, High Quality Neck Knife
The media could not be loaded. I wouldn’t carry this on my belt, but awesome for a neck knife. The sheath is tight - because that is preferable for something to be worn around your neck. Comes very sharp and is very small for opening packages or as self-defense. I have larger neck knives, but this will be my go-to because of its small size. Very inconspicuous and simple.
