It's a safety lanyard it does exactly what it says it does. Shipping was fast. item came with certificate. Both the carabiner and the safety hook are steel. Solid product.

Good construction, light weight
I bought this product mostly to use the clamp as an anchor for an SLR; I didn't use the lanyard. The clamp construction is sturdy, and its opening is large enough to clamp onto the rung of the ladder without issue.

SAFETY LATCH WAS JUNK
Safety latch that hooked to the harness would not latch correctly. I had to go buy one at the local store. this unit was defective and very unsafe.
