I bought this camera to take off road videos while out in my 4X4. It was much cheaper than some brand name cameras, and I got a lightning deal making it even more attractive. I must say I am totally blown away with its features and performance! It is super easy and intuitive to use, the mounting kit(s) it comes with are perfect and work extremely well ( even bouncing along off road ) and it has soooo many cool features. I would recommend this to anyone seeking a good quality dash cam. I have not yet had a chance to test the night vision, so no comment on that feature and I do want to point out that while taking snapshots in live video mode, the images do not appear to stored anywhere or are identifiable. I'm not sure about that. I recorded about 6 hours of video and made at least 50 snapshots while recording, however there are not jpg ( or picture) files to be found anywhere and review of the operating instructions did not help either. Also want to point out that if viewing and or manipulating the videos post record on a PC, it is extremely easy, windows recognizes and uses the file system and you can easily get your video off of the device to your pc with no special software of apps. This is a great camera for the price and I am very happy.

With all the crazy drivers around, I thought it would be a good time to get a dash cam. After some research, I decided on the ROVE R2-4K PRO Dash Cam. It has great options to set the resolution of the videos it records and the available space on the micro sd card can be maximized before be recorded over with the loop feature. The dash cam was very easy to install and super easy to operate. The thing that really stands out is the customer service. The cable clips were missing from the packet and I was unable to install the dash cam as the connecting cable would be hanging down. I contacted Rove customer service via a text. They were very quick to respond and of course wanted to verify the packet contents via a picture I took. Within minutes they agreed to send me the cable clips and also sent me a tracking number. Long story short, the cable clips never arrived. I contacted Rochelle, the customer service who had previously assisted me. I let her I had not yet received the cable clips and that they appeared to be lost in the mail. The cable clips were over two weeks late. Rochelle quickly verified the cable clips were not delivered and were overdue. She assured me that they would send out new cable clips and a new tracking number. The new cable clips arrived within 5 days and I was able to install the dash cam. I am quite pleased with the performance of the dash cam. Rove’s customer service is top notch and very willing to make sure everything is right and the customer satisfied.

Pros: I like almost everything about this little cam. It has tons of features you can tinker with, but it also works right out of the box, just by plugging it in. Very little work to get it up and running. I also bought ROVE's memory card, which worked without any issue. The software and instructions/documentation are fantastic - very clear and well thought-out, which is rare for electronics these days, with most stuff being made overseas by folks who don't know English well. This camera is designed in the USA, manufactured in China - like Apple products. The unboxing experience was surprisingly fun, and obviously Apple-inspired. Build quality looks really solid - I see no flaws. Camera is very easy to mount. ROVE even included cleaning wipes for my windshield in the product packaging! It's little touches like this that show they put a lot of thought and care into this product. It's also really easy to get the videos onto my computer; I appreciate the no-hassle experience.?: I haven't tested the night vision yet. One other feature I'm excited to try is time lapse mode.Cons: The camera stops recording as soon as the engine is turned off. I understand why it is designed this way. But I want to be able to record while I'm pulled over with the engine off. For example, if a police officer pulls me over. Cops usually tell you to turn off your car engine. If you do that your camera shuts off and you'll have no footage! ROVE sells a kit that allows you to hook the camera up directly to your car battery, but I worry that will drain my battery; might be better for owners of electric vehicles. The other major flaw with this camera is that it only records the forward-facing direction; if someone rear-ends you, you won't have any footage of it (you'll need to buy a whole second camera for that). Finally, the built-in speedometer seems to be biased 1 or 2 mph too fast, imho. That's going to make you look bad if you try to use the videos in court - it makes you look like you were driving faster than you were! There ought to be a setting to tune this up or down 1-3 mph. Fortunately there is a setting to just turn it off.

Very impressed with the clarity of the video. So far, this unit is performing well. Installation was easy and the suction cup mount is better than expected.
