Q: How well does this block out light (e.g. if room lights are on)?

It works great for blocking light. It would be great for someone who has to sleep during the day or shares a room with a night owl. Wish I'd had one of these in college!

Q: How hard is it to change your sheets and make the bed every morning with the tent on?

Changing the sheets is easy. You can change them without removing the entire mattress from inside the tent. I don't make my bed every morning...I just zip up the tent so you can't tell if the bed is made or not, plus I have my sleeping bag inside my tent, so there is no need to make the bed.

Q: I want to use this as a travel bed for my 3 year old. Is it easy to setup and take down?

It is NOT a bed. It sets up over the top of a regular twin bed but has to be under the bed's matress so I would not advise using it for travel. My adult grandson set it up for me as a permanent privacy tent for my twin bed. I wouldn't advise using it for a child. My 2 year old great grandaughter was jumping on the bed & fell into the side that I had zipped up & couldn't get out on her own.
