You pull straight down and it slides out. Then you slide another in.

You dip the nib into the ink bottle as you would a quill.

Q: How does the owl dip pen , are the nibs for the pen metal?

The nibs are metal, nice and solid. Not sure how well the ink draws, haven’t used it yet.
