Who let the dogs out🎼🎼
Perfect for your apartment patio. I am on the first floor and it has an opening making it easy for my dogs to get out. But not now since getting this gate.

Keeps kiddos out
My child will throw is full body weight into this thing and it doesn’t budge. So secure, easy to use even with 1 hand when holding babe. I sometimes wish you could move it to other door frames easier but it does the trick! It even keeps the dog from running all over the house, safely! Highly suggest this. Easy to adjust to door frames. I feel like you could use this is all door frames, very versatile!

Works great in large or small openings, but tough to open one-handed
It works well, but it is tough to do one handed, ESPECIALLY if it's locked if you have a larger opening as we do. We usually leave it unlocked to avoid this, it is still a bit cumbersome for my wife to open one handed.

Easy to install
Purchased this gate for the deck as it's advertised as indoor/outdoor. Just installed it so not sure how it will hold up in bad weather. But it was easy to install, just make sure to line the holes on the templets to the actual gate as the holes were slightly off.

Great for Babies, but not small dogs
This gate was bought before I had a baby for the purpose of keeping dogs out of parts of my house. I liked this style because my Roomba could still get under the gate, unlike the metal style ones that have a bar on the ground. Unfortunately, my 20lb dog discovered she could push the fabric up and squeeze under. So, I moved it down as low as it could go and she can still squeeze under. I now have a crawling baby and it is completely effective in keeping him out of certain areas. The gate itself needs two hands to latch both parts or, if you’re like me and good with your feet, you can use your foot to push the bottom one into place and your hand for the top. It’s definitely doable while holding a baby using that method. I’m also able to step over the gate (at 5’7”) so I don’t always have to unlatch it

Perfect! Work great
Exactly what I needed! I like how they retract so they are put up when I don’t need to use it.

It is a window roller shade on its side.
Update: in less than a week the cats figured out how to slide underneath, and when they jumped on the gate the entire thing fell off the wall. Changing rating to 1 star.Original review: The reviews critical of this gate's sturdiness are accurate. It is essentially a window roller shade on its side. The gate fabric is a vinyl mesh that would not stand up for long to frequent clawing by cats or dogs. This gate should never be used for children of any size without constant supervision. I believe that if a toddler fell against it the gate could collapse, especially if it is installed into wall board and not a wood door frame. For that reason the gate should never be used at the top of a staircase, a porch drop off, etc.The gate I received requires two hands to close. Since I have it across a wide opening I have to grab the fabric and pull out extra length (similar to many car seat belts) to get enough slack to secure it. When pulling on the gate fabric, the entire thing has come off the wall hooks. So why have I given the gate three stars and not one? Because for some situations it is ideal: when you have a large opening; when you are keeping the gate closed most of the time or open most of the time; when your pets are small and not escape artists; when you need a bit of a visual barrier without stopping airflow. I'm using it to separate elderly cats who are getting to know each other, and to keep a small senior dog away from cat food. There are two entrances to the room, so blocking one entrance with the gate continually is not a hardship. If I had to open and close this gate a few times a day it would drive me nuts.I am using it across a double door opening over 55" across. When closed, the gate is completely out of the way. The 41" height is ample to discourage small animals from jumping over it.The multiple mounting options are great; I have one side of the gate inside the door frame, the other on the outside of the door frame. I installed it that way because the hook side, when installed inside the door frame, has an opening big enough to put my hand through. Installing both sides outside a door frame definitely makes the gate more secure.I bought it in the gray color (it was the cheapest), which is moderately see-through. The darker the fabric, the more see-through it is (consider window screens, which are usually black). For less see-through, use the white. It was extremely difficult to get the screws into a wood door frame even though I drilled pilot holes. To avoid stripping the screws I had to use a hand screwdriver. I bought "better" wood screws at a hardware store but they were essentially the same as those that came with the gate. On the plus side, the gate's paper guides were extremely helpful in mounting the hardware correctly. If you are occasionally visited by a baby or small child this gate would work to keep them out of rooms with hazardous contents, but only if the child is under constant supervision. Every small child I've known would outwit or demolish this gate in a few minutes.

Great for the fur baby!
Great for the fur baby!! My little girl tore her ACL but still thinks she can walk all over the house just fine. So in order to keep her off the kitchen floor we put one of these up. Even though she doesn't like it, it really is nice. It was easy to install. I like the length because it was hard to find something retractable for the size of the opening that we needed it for. I would definitely purchase one of these again. It opens and closes easily. We bought the white and I like that it is still see through.
