Great EDC flashlight, though I wish it was rechargeable
Great for everyday carry, can get banged up and still works greatInspection beam is really cool, but has its weaknessesIf you’re looking for the best, the Coast HP3R is a bit better, but this is a close second, and half the price

Incredible.
I am so so happy with this. I was looking for a flashlight to be in my EMT kit, so something that I could use to check pupil dilation and have as an inspection light. It feels super sturdy, and is made very well. Everything just works and there isn't extra stuff that you don't need on it, making it small, light but feeling like it has good presence in your hand, and also just super functional.I have noticed it does not overheat easily, or for that matter at all! It stays super cool (especially considering how bright and focused the beam is) and does not even heat up the part around the lens.Really loved this so much, its so perfect, also if you were wondering the clip can come off easily with intention, but will 100% stay in place and not move around when not wanting it to come off!

Great little light!
Great inspection ligh it throws a very clean clear light. Not a long throw but if you are inspecting your going to be close anyhow.

decent light for the price
I've owned two of these in the past five years. Nice slim profile for a pocket, though the clip does tend to slip off if you are changing positions frequently while wearing it in your pants. The first one worked fine until one day the spring in the power switch came misaligned and the rubber became dislodged; game over. For the price it's definitely worth it, and I carry it everyday at work. It has somewhat limited capabilities, not very bright and no ability to change the focus. As with all Coast flashlights, I like how evenly dispersed the field of light is. In a pinch it could be used to light a path in the dark, but due to the low lumens it has limited range. It gets the job done for most up close inspection purposes, and has a nice low profile so it's not cumbersome to carry all the time.

Indispensable
This is a very high quality penlight, much better than the cheap kind in the hardware aisles of supermarkets. First, its pushbutton is extremely reliable; it works every time. Second, since it's LED, the battery and bulb lasts seemingly forever. Third, it has the perfect bright cone of light and appreciate that it only has one light level, so you're never having to click it several times.

Let there be light.
Quality construction, small, compact, lightweight.Emits a considerable amount of light given it's small size and length.Fits well in either your hand or pocket. Easy to turn on and off.I have purchased four of them to use in both the house and automobile.Well pleased overall. Highly recommended if you want a small, durable flashlight that shines brightly.

Fantastic light!! Many possible applications
OK-- I found the perfect solution for reading in a darkened theatre without disturbing my neighbors! I find that even just an iPhone in flashlight mode is bright enough to annoy my eyes (neighbors reading menu in darkened restaurants etc), so I am sympathetic to seat neighbors' feelings when I try, say, to read opera words in foreign languages during a performance. The iPhone only puts out 7 to 26 lumens (they say), which is tiny compared to amazon's latest flashlights rated at 1000 or so lumens.. you'd think that 1000 lumens would be bright enough to cause eye damage (like with a laser)... Optics people familiar with the bidirectional reflectance function (BDF) will recognize there is a problem here: it's not just the intensity at the center point of the beam that matters, but rather how much the beam spreads out on the sides. OK, so this flashlight really restricts the light at the (non-central) edges of the beam, a great advantage in terms of not annoying your neighbors. Summary: An inspection flashlight like this does not have the annoying wide-outward-diffusing-beam property that cellphones and most common flashlights do have, which has caused most theatre owners to ban cellphones during their shows.I further narrowed the beam by attaching a small metal funnel (spice-jar-filler) near the end of the flashlight, used a shim made from Home Depot plastic tubing ( 5/8" inner diameter ~flashlight, 7/8" outer diameter~funnel) as a shim-- many other creative customizations are possible if you want to further restrict the sides of the beam... I expect people might find a variety of areas where this flashlight is a winner, not just in medical and industrial applications. In terms of quality per unit price, this coast flashlight at $8.31 sale price is really attractive, compared to $22.52 original list price.
