Solid wood chairs at a great price.
These chairs are best used with a cushion. I have found them to be extremely comfortable, great value at the price. My daughter-in-law, who is around 6" tall, says they don't support her back very well.

Great chairs, horrible assembly
Oh, boy, I would love to write a great review of these. They are great chairs. However, assembling them is the most hellish of this kind of project we have ever encountered. We've put together endless numbers of IKEA pieces-- a couple of times without the directions. But this is something else all together. They do ultimately work, but it is a road paved by the devil, himself. First of all, there are some issues with the directions. It's starts by showing you that you need a hammer, screw driver, and Phillips screw driver, plus the little tool that comes with the chairs. You do need the tool, and a medium size Phillips screw driver will be very useful, but it is not really part of what you need. I guess you need the hammer to pound in the little wooden screw covers, but that's a whole other issue I'll get to in a second. You will have these 4 little inserts, cylinders with a screw opening. You will wonder why you need 4, because the directions only tell you to use 2. DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY, YOU WILL NEED THEM.The actual process: getting the backs onto the seats is just horrible. It is barely possible to do it with one person, and three people will be optimal. But don't include your spouse, because you will be ready to divorce him or her by the end of this. You have to bend and pull the back to within an inch of its life to get it in place to screw on the seat. This is the very, very worst. It's just awful. Think I'm exaggerating? Try it and then get back to me. It appears not to fit, and not to line up. But it does, you just have to pull it with all your might into place, and then get those screws in as fast as you can. They only give you exactly what you need for this, as is normal with this sort of assemble-it-yourself furniture. But so many pieces will go rolling all over the floor as they fall out because it didn't get into the hole the way it should, that it would be the least they could do. This is where the Phillips screw driver comes in handy: you will do much better if you hold the cylinder thing in place with that as you screw in the screw. Holding the Phillips screwdriver in the top of the cylinder thing while trying to jam the back into the seat and screw in the screw at the same time requires 5 hands. I did the first chair on my own with my own 2 hands, and it took about 20 tries to get it in. I'm not kidding-- it was at least 20.Once you have the back on, the rest goes quite smoothly. Except for when you insert the cross bar between the legs. You will try to insert the screws. They will just flop around. You will be confused. Remember those 2 extra cylinders? That's why you have them. Except the directions don't ever mention that. The legs are marked R for right and L for left. That's great, but when the chair is upside down, it is really easy to mix that up. It would be very helpful if they had also marked the bottom of the seat with the R and L, it would save a lot of aggravation. They tell you not to screw in certain pieces tightly until you do another step. They are not kidding about this. Really, don't even screw them in more than half-way, because of all the pushing and pulling and yanking you have to do will be 1000 times worse if you have pre-tightened anything. But when you are through, go back and check and retighten everything, even if you have done it before. We ordered 3 sets, that is, 6 chairs. Two of the pairs were great, the other one had a lot of screw holes where not all of the wood had been punched through, and we had to take out screws that wouldn't go in, and clean out the excess wood shavings. That one also had an orange stripe on the bottom of the back of one chair. God alone knows what that indicated, but we're putting that at the place at the table where no one usually sits. That one was also a little rocky, but for all the effort we went through, we'll just put one of the little pads you can put under a chair leg for just this purpose. Is it worth it? We're really happy with the chairs. They look really nice with our country dining room table and feel very sturdy. But our hands and backs took a real beating, and it was just an awful, awful day, putting these all together. Hence the 3 stars-- great chairs, and if you find this kind of thing a fun challenge, then have at it. Otherwise, go to a furniture store and buy some kitchen/dining room chairs and have them delivered.

a very poor value for the money. i made a bad choice in ordering this product.
my full regrets for purchasing this product. after two months the legs don't fit well in their sockets and the chairs wobble a lot. the legs have been cut square where they meet the floor rather than cutting at an angle in order to sit flush on the floor which prevents the installing of glides of any type. i wish there was a way to have my money refunded. this product is pure junk. this is what we end up with when shopping on line and don't have the benifit of examining the product before purchasing.
