Works well
I had an old one for years that finally started giving me trouble. Would have gotten another of that make, but it wasn’t submersible so I thought I would try something else.Anyway, this one is a little slower than my old one, and I have learned to start it at the same time I start the half pot of coffee I make every morning. I like the different settings and especially the multiple heat settings. It’s nice to top off your hot coffee with a hot foam on a cold morning. I have found though that the lowest heat works best for getting a good froth.Couple of things about how it works.Part of the reason it takes longer is that it pauses periodically. I think to check the temperature? So don’t assume it’s done until you hear the chime. How long it will take depends on how much foam and heat you want, which is logical, right? So your mileage may vary.It says in the instructions to start with cold fresh milk, and it also gives information on how well different kinds of “milk” will foam. The key is to understand that you need a decent fat content to get foam. So some of your plant based fake “milks” are not going to give the result you want. That is not a flaw of the machine. The same is true of skim milks, and even with whole milk you want to pay attention to the fat content because they are not all the same. Wegman’s store brand, frex, does not foam well, something I learned with my previous frother. So if you really care about that, compare the fat content of different brands when you are buying your milk.I have not yet tried it for hot chocolate or chai, but I am hoping it works well so that I can dispense with heating milk on the stove. I might report back if I remember. Finally, it’s a nice clean design with no buttons or knobs so it cleans up with just a wipe and the pitcher can go in the dishwasher. Just be sure to remove the whisk and put it somewhere secure like the silverware basket or the top tray if you have one of those. It’s small and might get misplaced or end up blocking something in your dishwasher. Take it out first if you are going to hand wash so it doesn’t end up going down the drain.

Great milk frother!!
I am really pleased with how well this milk frother works for my morning coffee. It’s quick, it’s efficient and it’s so easy to clean. The inside is all stainless steel and will not chip off on the bottom like my previous frothers. Not very expensive.

Think Twice Before Purchasing
I purchased this to make heated milk and molasses. It worked beautifully the first 8 times. 35 days after purchasing, it no longer frothed. I could no longer return it through amazon and the Instant company is making me jump through hoops just to get information over to them. I added the information online, including the pic of the product label (as asked). Then I was sent an email and was asked for the product label again along with photos, a video and other information about the issue. I hadn't heard back so I contacted the chat. They told me I would get an email within 5-15 minutes. I did, asking me now to upload a video to Google Drive, which I have no idea how to do. Please do yourself a favor and purchase a frother from another company. This is not worth your time. I've pretty much figured out it is the wisk that's not working properly but to have to go through all of this, isn't worth it.I felt the need to add to this review. After all that I went through to prove that the frother wasn't working, customer service said they were sending me out another one. I originally purchased the Instant Magic Froth 9 in 1, with a stainless steel pot. What I received is a cheaper model (Instant Mousseur A Lait 4 in 1), that's all plastic!!!! I'm not kidding, Do Not Purchase this product. Even the customer service is bad. I'm just so glad I did not purchase this as a gift for someone else. I would have been embarrassed if they had to go through all of this.

Instant Magic Froth 9-in-1 is a great little frother
I initially bought a top rated battery operated frother which I returned as it was junk. Instant, however, is a legitimate appliance in a compact form factor. The stainless can was a huge selling point for me (opposed to non-stick). It's a little tight for my large hand to find in the mixer unit. Here is what I learned so far:froth 0, heat: 0: unacceptable at mixing chocolate powder (Ghirardelli baking chocolate power is hard to mix, near impossible with a spoon, so previous best option was a matcha whisk).froth 0, heat 2: matcha pending test.froth 1, heat 0 or 2: perfect job at mixing chocolate powder, however, you have to ignore the max level for forth 1 and instead fill a bit under froth 0 max to get a usable drink volume. It will spill if you do it all the way to forth 0 max. It takes a LONG time to heat up... I should time it but like 5 minutes? It's great but I wish I could make it just a little hotter. Once you get the volume dialed in you don't have to watch it so it's still a very convenient appliance.forth 2, heat 2: beautiful froth with half/half but it deflates quickly (nature of half/half I think), and of course you have some leftover liquid which didn't bother me. It also works with mixing chocolate powder but only like half a glass. It's quite luxurious to have froth on hot chocolate. Here is what Instant should consider improving in future versions:1. Use variable froth option (not just 3) so I dial it in for chocolate powder without the very significant loss of drink volume. Find a way to deal with overflow so it doesn't result in liquid running onto the hot plate or worse into the machine.2. Use variable temperature control so I get it a hotter.3. Tell me the actual temperature (F/C).4. Use induction element for heating, or more powder so it can prepare my hot drink about the same time it would take to heat it in a microwave.5. Ability to turn off the beeping. One of our dogs is scared of the sound. Finally consider making a version with twice the volume (2 cups).
