Works as it says!
The media could not be loaded. First thing I did was tested it, before mounting it. Picks up smoke in a few seconds. Everyone should do the same with incense sticks or burning raw cardboard.I took one apart to take a look. Its pretty well made minimalistic optical smoke detector.Not extremely loud but audible. Top quality for a decent price. Works for sure. I am buying more.

Beware - doesn't detect smoke - Credibility loss of Honeywell
THis is not at all effective. My room was full of smoke but still didn't beep. It will give you false sense if you rely on it. My previous smoke detector was very effective.
