Good boot, good price.
fits well, width is great(wide) and the toe box does not cramp the toes. Foot bed is very comfortable, superior to the thin piece of foam found in most hiking boots. Good foot/ankle support.

VERY impressed for a shoe at this pricepoint
I bought 3 pairs of these hiking boots for a 5-day backpacking trip to Big Bend National Park with my teenage boys (well, 14 and 12) and a group of about 20 other scouts. At a 50$ price point per pair, these were amazing. We had hikes every day - anywhere from 4-mile round trip hikes with little elevation change, to summiting Mt Emory which is around a 8 mile round trip hike with major elevation change. We had hikes with just a day-pack with water (camelback) as well as our big Emory hike while toting 40-70lb backpacks for overnight camping (you need to carry-in all your water which is a majority of the weight). These boots were great. I got a size 12 standard width(in army green), my boys a 10 standard (brown) and 7.5 standard (black). My 14-yo has flat feet, and I initially got him the Wide version of the boot, but he said there was too much sliding in the boot, so we exchanged for the standard width and it was great for him. We all used thick wool socks while hiking. These boots were SUPER comfortable, extremely durable and worked great. While a couple of the other kids that went with us had blisters and such from their other more expensive boots, my boys and I had ZERO foot issues. We broke the boots in with a couple neighborhood walks prior to going, but the shoes by default are good to go I think. Zero materials issues while using them, great ankle support and if it matters, my 16yo daughter prior to us going was jealous of my 12yo son's pair (he got the black color) because she thought they were "super cute".As far as the soles of the boots, quite rugged grip, we were hiking on everything from flat sand next to the Rio Grande in Elena Canyon, all the way to jagged rock, gravel, mixed substrate etc on other hikes. The soles gripped everything fine, no slipping or issues with that. I highly recommend these boots for any recreational hiking anyone may do.

Consistent Mid-Level Hiking Boot Quality - Will Not Last One Year With Daily Use
I bought the 13W NORTIV8 olive green waterproof hikers. Like every other mid-level quality hiking boot I have purchased, they held up great for about 9 months of daily wear before the glued soles started to separate. After that happened, they were no longer waterproof or comfortable. These are decent quality mid-level hiking boots for sure, just temper your expectations if you wear them daily since the soles will ultimately fail. Other than that, I liked the overall appearance and comfort and traction. Note the traction will also fail if you wear these daily. The next pair I purchase will not be worn daily so I will see how that goes and then post another review. I hope this helps you decide!

Good looking and good fit.
The boots looks sturdy and upon trying them on I found them extremely comfortable. Haven't had a chance to test drive them yet. But they arrived quickly and as expected. I will have a chance to test them out doing some serious hill climbing in the near future and we'll try and remember to come back and update my review. The boots fit my expected. size perfectly.

Great buy.
Great fit and true to size. I “broke them in” for a week of walking before a trip to the state park. Very comfortable and sturdy for a casual hiker. Not heavy either.

Not true to size.
The boots are nice. However I wear and ordered size 9. The boots are way to big. I'm thinking I might have to get a size 8.
