Good size
This is an excellent sand pit. It is big, I bought it for an 8 yr old and she has plenty of room. Needs a lot of sand so buy at least 10 bags, more would be better! We have moved house taken it apart and rebuilt it and still as sturdy and looking good as it was new. Only down side, cover isn’t well designed as it has a draw string which is really fiddly and you need bricks to secure it really, elastic would have been better. Also the lining wasn’t big enough so had to patch in a bit of a shower curtain to cover a corner. Hopefully they have rectified these niggles now.

A very well made and attractive sand pit
I spent a long time researching the ideal sand pit for my son and daughter who are very tall for their ages 8 and 3 respectively. This one seemed the most ideal because it could easily accommodate 4 or more children. It appeared to be easier than most to assemble and was attractive ! Plus it's price is very fair I think. The lid was and is it's only drawback but I took another reviewer's advice and purchased suitable bungee straps which aren't cheap though, to cross over the top for extra security. The lid does have elastic straps that go over each seat corner which I hadn't known about and was very relieved to find. So as lids go this is better than most from what I've read. The bungees work a treat and if you put something taller in the middle under the lid, then at least the rain water doesn't collect there ! But because the lid isn't on the generous side it really is a tight fit. Water does collect else where which results in pulling the lid away from the edges and many of the corners of the seats being exposed but all in all it works well. We've had some awful winds too and it's stayed on, plus our neighbour's cat hasn't got in side THANK GOODNESS !. It took me over two hours to assemble which was very annoying (!) and a lot longer than it should have taken. If I hadn't made any mistakes and had had some help, it would have been done in 30 to 60 minutes ! I put 20 x 15kg bags of play sand in it, which is more than is recommended but it seemed to need that much ! But I think that's made the walls expand a little more than it's meant too which is no doubt why the lid is slightly too tight ? The sand was another 60 quid ! All in all I'm very pleased with it and my kids and all their friends love it too ! I'd definitely recommend it.

Rubbish cover and ground sheet. Complicated assembly. Not value for money.
3/10.A bit disappointed as 1. expected it to be a bit bigger, ie ‘giant’ 2. ‘Cover’ is a useless rip off 3. Ground sheet could be bigger 4. Takes too long/ complicated to assemble 5. When I look @ assembled product I don’t feel it’s value for money, ie should’ve been cheaper for what it is.Plus points. 1. Came in 1 easy to move box 2. All parts intact/ nothing missing 3. No need to drill screws in. Wood soft enough to screw drive screws in. 4. End result/ wood part looks and feels intact if handled with care.Arrived on time in one slim box. Managed to assemble with my 11 year old. Took us just over 3 hours. Had to keep figuring out which way around the slots aligned/ planks faced. In the end we found the instructions useless and just used common sense. Most of time my 11 year old would pointed out errors by looking at the photo of end of end product and so we ended up having to disassemble and reassembling/ realigning the planks.Once we had got the frame assembled it was straight forward to just screw in screws with screw driver to secure. Then the ground mat disappointment as it is very small, ie made to fit exactly, so ended up with 2 ends of the pit short of mat. Ground mat should be bigger ? Spent unnecessary time trying to keep tugging/ jostling it into place to secure to try and fit.Biggest disappointment was the ‘cover’. Again too small & useless! Thick material but Doesn’t cover entire pit at all, can’t understand why it’s even there?Have not yet filled with sand as I’ve had to pay again for another proper cover and bigger ground sheet from another company, which are arriving soon.End sandpit is okay, with seats to sit on and looks smart, but I think it’s too pricy, a nightmare to assemble and the cover and ground sheet a joke. Also not as ‘giant’ as I thought. Doesn’t look big enough to be called ‘giant’.
