A wonderful read
Once in a while, a book comes along that is so well written, the reader reflexively searches for other books by its author. The System’s Thinker - Analytical Skills is a prime example of this rare breed. This book may not be encyclopedic in content, but it, without a doubt covers a sufficient amount of material to warrant its use in analysis. The author made absolutely every topic that was introduced in this book both intuitive and rigorous, and yet some sections are as fun to read as a novel.

Great Book
The book is new as expected. It introduces you to the concept of Systems Thinking.

interesting overview
It would be useful to include not just theory and examples but practical tools. Good examples but quite vague methods

Either AI or written by a smart kid
Skimmable. I finished it in ~45 min. Not a hard read. Nothing too complex, or original, but it did have a few gleaming moments. Seemingly AI written. Every book goes over the same logical fallacies omg. It really did have a couple of moments though!

Remarkably bad.
This book is self-published. There is a reason that no one published this book. At no point does this book provide a unique perspective, fresh (or complete) idea, or actionable guidance to truly complex, system-based problems. I was able to blaze through the entire thing in 25 minutes because there was no substance. If you know what a SWOT analysis is and a handful of logical fallacies, you’ve already surpassed this book’s level. Examples of this book’s profound wisdom: “read books from more than one point of view” and “if you’re not much of a reader...work on boosting your math skills.”One of my favourites: “there are numerous methodologies for boosting your analytical skills.” Which would have been fine, if what followed was a book ABOUT THOSE SKILLS. But it wasn’t. It wasn’t a book about anything. Basically, this is a book that tells you that analytical and critical thinking skills are important. That’s it.The physical book itself is poorly compiled. It has 187 pages including the front matter and introduction. It is double-spaced, has large font and the margins are hilariously wide. If this book were properly formatted, it would be 60 pages, tops.

Book for sure is a primer
I used this book to understand my real analysis class and I can confidently say that I understand the bulk of what analysis is about after having read this book.I appreciated the examples of policy analysis at the end of the book which is basically intertwining analytical a systems thinking approaches. The book for sure is a primer. You won’t learn to go deep with it. But for those who are beginners in analysis or wish to refresh their knowledge, I’d recommend this quick read.

Practice makes perfect.
Solving problems without using emotions sounds so simple but there is much more to it, analytical thinking comes in many forms. Communication is how we share our ideas, manage conflict, consider tough topics from an unbiased perspective and is a key part of analytical skills. You want to improve your critical thinking then this book is for you, these are skills that can be learned and improved by anyone that puts in the work. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone that follows Albert Rutherford's work and is looking to better their analytical skills.

Like a powerpoint presentation without pictures
I'm dissatisfied with the book.If analytical thinking is a body of water, the author is unaware that there's anything beneath the surface. His concepts are skipping stones and his bullet points are the stone's brief bounds upon the water's surface; skipping over noteworthy concepts of incredible potential depth and detail with wistful thoughtlessness, and clumsy examples on the brink of being unrelated to the point. It reads like a power point presentation administered by a lazy employee who must cover the material but wants to get it overwith as quickly as possible. The examples are shot from the hip in weirdly unapplicable ways. It's as if the author has a hypothetical understanding of analytical thinking but not a practical one.One positive thing about the book is that it inspired me...to seriously consider becoming an author, because even I could make a better product than this.
