Small Scale, Big Espresso Energy
This little scale is gorgeous — sleek, compact, and stylish enough to make my espresso setup look like it belongs in a high-end café or at least on a very curated Instagram page. But it’s not just a pretty face. The built-in timer is clutch. No more mentally counting and hoping for the best while my espresso gushes out like a tiny coffee volcano. Now I can dial in my shots with barista-level precision while pretending I know what I’m doing. It’s the perfect size to fit under a portafilter or on a pour-over stand, and the responsiveness is spot-on. Plus, it makes me feel like I’m performing a tiny, elegant science experiment every morning — only the reward is espresso instead of a lab report. If you want style, function, and a sprinkle of barista magic in your kitchen, this scale delivers. One shot at a time.

TLDR: Buy it. It works well, it has impressive and useful features, it looks great, it’s thin/low-profile, and it’s a great price.Detailed review: I’m very happy with this scale, and it has certainly upped my espresso game by leaps and bounds. I’m able to weigh my beans very precisely down to a tenth of a gram (roughly the weight of a single bean), so my dosing is on point. Also, it fits beneath the portafilter with room to spare for my cup, so I can weigh my shots and accurately measure my input/output ratio. And automatic mode is magic! When the espresso hits the cup, the timer starts running, so I can measure flow rate along with everything else! Overall, super easy to use and very necessary for the at-home barista. One caveat: It acted weird on the 2nd or 3rd day, and I thought I was going to have to return it. The weight would slowly creep up even though I wasn’t adding any coffee. I dusted it off, made sure it was dry, set it on a more stable surface… I still don’t know what the matter was, but it stopped freaking out and it hasn’t really given me any trouble since. Also, I should mention that the automatic function doesn’t always work 100% perfectly; it works, and usually works quite well, but depending on the flow rate, you might get some drops dribbling into the cup and the timer not detect it right away. (I think the timer must be activated according to some sort of algorithm that looks for a certain increase in a certain amount of time, so a slower initial drip rate might not trigger it at first.) Also weirdly, it seems like about half of the time when the weight stops increasing (i.e., espresso stops flowing) , the timer pauses (as I think it’s supposed to do), but other times, the timer keeps running until you manually stop it. I don’t know… It’s a weird glitch, I guess, but it doesn’t really make any difference. The weight is accurate, and that’s the primary thing to keep an eye on.So, is it perfect? No, I guess not. But, it works extremely well and functions perfectly for my purposes. In fact, it’s a lot nicer and fancier than I expected – plus, it’s more affordable and more streamlined than its obvious rival the Acacia.

Good little coffee scale
Works well. We use it daily to measure out beans for our espresso machine. Has a very quick responsiveness so I’m not having to constantly take beans out to get the right weight (our last one was very sluggish) and is always accurate. I like that it’s rechargeable and we’ve barely had to charge it since we got it even with daily use, maybe once or twice. Super easy to switch on and off and it’s a nice small size that’s easy to store.

Recommended for use as scale and manual timer
I like its small size, and weight sensitivity. It's a bit wonky when trying to set the tare to zero, as I usually end up shutting it off. This is because the tare reset and on/off function are on the same button and respond to either a short duration press (tare reset) or long duration press (on/off). Thing is, the short duration press frequently doesn't respond to my touch. The scale can be used to measure oz./ml/grams. I've never really understood why anyone bothers to put milliliters on a scale since it's a measure of volume not weight, and the readings are identical! The stand-alone timer function works okay, but the timer/volume function (generally for use during espresso shots) I found just about impossible to use, so I don't. I'd always end up resetting it accidentally, or the timer would start before I intended it to. I'm not saying it won't work, I'm saying it's not worth my struggle. Additionally the unit is supplied with a silicon pad to lay over the top of the scale which is suggested for use as a heat insulator. Although it's only about ⅛" (3 mm) thick, it adds to the overall height of the unit when measuring espresso shots. I measured the total height with the silicon pad in place at just tad over 13/16" (I'll say .820 or just about 21 mm).So in the end I find it to be:Reasonably pricedDecent qualityUseful for weighing coffeeUseful for timing and measuring coffee pour oversUseful manual timerBuilt-in battery charges quickly and lasts between chargesEasy to read digital readoutAppears to be sealed well from dirt and moisture (though I wouldn't ever submerse it)I'd buy it again, but look for a unit with a little less height and a bit more usability for timing/measuring espresso shots. Thing is that might set you back several times more than what this unit costs.

Excellent Scale for Espresso
Very Easy to set-up and use. Fits very well under my espresso coffee maker. The time-on-demand feature helped me adjust my espresso brew with excellent results. I found I was over-extracting. I have read some users indicate trouble with getting it to tare, but I had no problems whatsoever. Just have to be aware that it only requires a very subtle touch with the finger.
