Fiber Splicing Sleeves worked Great!

To small for what I wanted

I ordered the 60mm optic style splice protectors. Cable fits the heat shrink tube well, the heat shrink tube is reinforced for strength and the tube shrinks down nice and uniformed. Everything shrinks down tight and seals out the elements. The tubing is strong to where it can take some abuse before it would damage the splice. Good to have on hand for quick repairs.

Overall these do work and seem would do the job they are meant for. Lot of these for a fairly cheap price, but you get what you pay for it seems. Many of these had the metal brace on odd angles, also found a bit tricky to remove from the heat tray as it stuck to the machine even tried a few times. Tried this and compared to a different sleeve which did not stick to the machine as much and these also have a hazy appearance after used. The haze issue makes me leary of how much you would see in these when used with a visual fault locator to find a bad splice, etc.I got these so people can learn how to use this part of a splicer tool but I would be hesitant to use in production networking.

I have use a few dozen of these fiber optic protection sleeves so far and they have performed just fine. I like the length of these (60mm). They shrink down just fine and secure the fiber splice just fine. The stainless wire provides the proper support for the fiber as it should. The only thing I did notice on some of them was that after shrinking they were not as clear as some others I have used. I do not see where that is an issue. I will continue to use these. They are a good value and have performed well for me. I can recomend them.

These protection sleeves have a stainless steel rod and a clear heat shrink tubing. They work as they should in the fusion splicer shrinking from the center to the outside for a nice good seal.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, they seem to do their job as well as other protection sleeves for fusion splices.

The VAE-YI fiber heat shrink tubes are pretty good for the price. These are a little different than the splice heat shrink tubes from the big name brands. As long as you pay attention these will work fine. Take note of the ends of these. Care will need to be taken to ensure the fiber is inserted into the center hole of the shrink tube. The ends of the support needle do not appear to be de-burred, however the plastic is thick enough that it shouldn’t be an issue. I found one defective shrink tube in a bag of 100. These should keep me going for a while but I would order again if needed.

This is a nice value kit of shrink tubes. If you have a lot of projects, this is a handy box with a generous amount inside. These took some care to get the fiber positioned correctly, but with a little practice, it works fine. I haven't had any issues so far, and the tubes seem a good thickness and to protect well. They shrunk fast and work pretty well. Once done, I'm happy with the seal, pretty good kit.
