Is this rigid or flexible material?

It's flexible, like a stiff rubber material. It works great -- I used it to dampen the top and bottom panels of a preamplifier I built and if you rap on the panels there is no sound.

What are the dimensions?

Don't have it in front of me but think it's about 12" x 16" and probably about 3/8" thick.

Could this be used to place on top of my window ac unit side panels?

yes and no im sure it will reduce vibration noise - but not sure adhesive will bond in heat of summer . You could apply exterior type glue to a/c sheet metal and attach panels that way

How thick is each sheet?

1/16 of an inch. I placed it on the underside of my Oppo bdp95 and hair-dryered it just to make sure it sticks for good. Boy what an improvement it made to the sound quality of my CDs, Bluray and SACDs. It's a vibration absorber and dissipater for sure.
