Thanks Amazon! Great product
I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Amazon Basics Car Sound Deadener performs. It works exactly as advertised and delivers results that are just as good as the more expensive name brands. Installation was straightforward, and the improvement in road noise and vibration was immediately noticeable in my car and I used it on a panel in a CNC project of mine, and it removed an annoying vibration. If you're looking for an effective and budget-friendly sound-deadening option, this one is definitely worth considering. Great performance without the premium price tag.

This stuff works to lower sound levels!
Amazon Basics Car Sound Deadener, 9.8″ x 15.7″ (34-Piece).I got a few pieces of hush mat for my 1967 Chevelle Malibu but the price was way high. I remembered to look for Amazon Basics and I am glad I did. This is a strong asphalt mat with one sticky side and the other side covered with aluminum given an impressed hex pattern. It is tougher and stronger than other products, it sticks (to a clean surface) and it lowered the noise level. It was harder to cut but easier to fit in many areas of the floor to the car. It was easy to get it to stick to the interior side of the wheel wells. Overall it went in quickly with no problems but it is not as flexible as some other products when fitting to a complex curve. Careful cutting and fitting prior to removing the cover from the sticky backing is important.Using quality rollers to apply pressure and ensure the adhesive backing sticks is as important as making sure the interior is CLEAN for the sound deadener install. The carpeting with original jute type backing went in with no problems caused by the sound deadener (not too thick). Everything else like seat belts and the seats also had no problems. I’d recommend these to anyone wanting a quieter ride.

it's good
goes on exactly like higher cost products, functions exactly the same with no smell. very good adhesion. covered with noico 4mm closed cell foam, for added dampening effect. as easy to use as the more expensive products. was meant only to dampen exhaust noise, and panel resonance.

Misleading Thickness, Generally Performs Well
Positive: Good price, performs well to sound deaden resonances in my car, good value compared to other brands.Negative: Amazon says .10 Inch thickness on all their Amazon Basics sound deadener. That's too generic in my opinion. Most other brands are sold by mils. So this product was 60 mils or .06 inches thick. I was hoping to get lucky with the 80 mils or .08 inches thick. Still a good value at black friday prices. See pic for reference of the amazon product number and thicknesses before you buy.Overall: worth it and a good value. I'm just disappointed Amazon wasn't more specific with their thickness listings.

Excellent butyl sound deadening mat. Easy cut, easy install
My Nissan Xterra is pretty noisy at speed so I'm treating the floors and doors with this mat and 1" recycled denim/cotton insulation. Compared to Kilmat and Silless which I have good experience with, this is every bit as good and comparable in price. I trust a product that Amazon puts their name on, but I'm happy to report zero weird smells or asphalt stench, as it's a purely butyl product like most others which is a good thing. It's easy to cut and compared to the Silless butyl mats the far more manageable sized squares are a lot easier to work with. For any remotely cost effective installation anyway, 100% coverage is totally not required and smaller squares are just easier to cut and work.I cut a small strip and rolled it onto the inside of my hand me down metal toolbox lid and even that small bit made a HUGE difference in handling opening and closing. It doesn't sound like a rattletrap tin can and closes with a much more solid thud for the equivalent of less than a dollar worth of material. This isn't really designed for sound blocking like mass loaded vinyl or other denser heavier mats/materials, this is to dampen vibrations of thin or flat usually metal panels and their resonance that can be audible. The most beneficial place to put this is in areas like a trunk/hatch, door skins, floors and anywhere else that's got some flat/thin, non-formed or creased metal. You can also improve the sound of your stock car's sound system by treating your doors, especially the skins with this. Compared to other butyl sound deadening mats, the fact it worked on my tool box so well makes it obvious this is a very similar or near identical product to the other big names out there.
