This keeps me from getting sick.
I honestly thought my mom was crazy when she said black garlic will keep you from getting sick. I have been taking black garlic for the last 2 years, and I've only been sick twice, and both times were when I quit taking black garlic because I thought it was a fluke. The taste isn't bad, but my fiancé won't kiss me after I eat one. It's worth it.

There are a lot of them. Love the taste. So far, I've added them to a homemade pizza, made Black Garlic butter for the freezer and will be adding a few to my Lamb Stew recipe. Unfortunately, they must be used within a month, checked for mold and spoilage. Guess I should have ordered a smaller container. I have frozen the remaining cloves hoping that they can maintain their flavor

most melts in the olive oil.
i warm up olive oil while i break a piece of this black garlic in the pan. I place my vegetables on top and slow cook. I notice a blackening of the oil as the vegetables slow cook. I place my Meat on top after the vegetable's have almost finished. Today was grass fed beef. I will sometimes put eggs on top of the veg's. wild caught salmon, organic chicken breast. This is a keto way of eating meal. I have looked up the health benefits of Black Garlic and they are great. I used to cut up raw garlic but like this way of getting my garlic more. Tastes better too.

Advertised as organic. Does NOT say organic anywhere on package.
After research, I determined that black garlic is aged regular garlic and NOT a different breed of garlic. I also learned that black garlic is reportedly higher in some antioxidants than fresh, but fresh is higher in allicin -- the heart-healthy and anti-cancer ingredient. Black tastes mild and almost sweet. Fresh has a strong odor and hot, biting taste. I now use both together. The texture of black garlic is like tar or prunes -- difficult to grate, but still possible.The biggest issue is that the advertising for this product says it's organic and the package label doesn't mention organic anywhere or have any organic certification logos. I figure one jar of conventionally grown product won't kill me, but I will not likely order the same product again.
