Important in every home - cheap insurance!
Fire or major home damage is not something that we always think about, but I encourage every adult to at least have the most important life documents in one central location that can be saved quickly, if needed.Compared to having a fireproof safe, this is something more portable if a person needed to run out of the house in an emergency. I am really surprised by the amount of organization here. I counted at least 18 storage sections, including one zippered “document” zone that has color-coded tabs. There are enough sections to keep everything in its proper place.Besides photos/papers/passports/money/documents, the main compartment is actually big enough to hold several additional bulky items—like a watch collection, jewelry, or other keepsakes. A lock keeps prying hands away. The outer coating is a durable black rubber-like coating that has the appearance of embedded fibers, giving a hint at the fire resistance. I hope I never need to test that quality, but I rest easier knowing my stuff has a chance to make it out.

Roomy problem solver
Luckily, I did not had to test the fire proof claim. But this case is very roomy with lots of storing options, so everything important (paperwork, passports, spare keys, even backup HDD) is handily packed for any emergency. The case is pretty sturdy for a soft shell.

Just what I needed for travel document, electronic protection
I have purchased an older version of the Colcase fireproof document box before. This new version is the hard case model, which is exactly what I’ve been wanting since I will be traveling soon. Previously, I had a laptop damaged due to insufficient protection (I usually travel with two laptops, each in a separate bag/backpack). Unlike the older model, this one does not collapse. To test its durability, I placed a 10-pound dumbbell on it and also applied pressure from the top. After leaving the dumbbell on for about 10 minutes, the area popped back to its original position. A 15-inch laptop, like the MacBook Air 15" shown in the picture, fits perfectly.I’ve uploaded pictures but avoided uploading a video using a match/fire because Amazon does not allow it based on my experience.I appreciate that the case is water-resistant, which is essential for me as I’ll be around water frequently during my travels and swim at least once a week. This means I can keep my laptop inside and check my work/personal email right after swimming. Additionally, I can use this case as a lap table while traveling and not worry about spills from myself or others in crowded areas like food courts or restaurants. The product description states the weight is about 4.76 pounds, but it feels lighter, comparable to the MacBook M3 15" which is about 3.3 pounds. The construction feels sturdy yet light, likely due to the materials used, and the frame helps prevent the bag from collapsing inward.Another plus is that the bag has a pleasant smell, not strong but clean. I've had other bags from different manufacturers that had a horrible odor, possibly due to chemicals used for sturdiness, waterproofing, fireproofing, etc. This isn't a scientific review, but so far, I’m glad I found this product. By the way, I had a hard time finding this product, possibly because it's new? I hope this review is helpful, and it would be great if the company could develop a backpack version in the future that can fit at least a 17-inch laptop.

Pretty nice. Great for storage/readiness of valuables
I got this to finally organize some of my important documents and such. I have some paper bills as well as valuable coins as well that are stored in various places in my house. Biggest thing for me with this was getting all my valuables into one location/container. In the event I need to leave quickly or house fire or whatever, I can just grab this and not have to fumble around looking for this or that should an emergency arise. I liked the paper file folder in this thing as it makes storage a lot easier specifically for documents. There is the separate card/passport holder as well which I may/may not use. The only "con" I can think of is that I wish the bottom of the case had some compartments or some way to compartmentalize that area to store odd shaped items. I sorta remedied this by getting some zipper pouches to hold money, coins, etc. in those and just place them in the case. Overall, I like it. The lock is essentially useless IMO since you can break it in seconds if you really wanted to. That said, at least it's some measure of safety for this case.

Nice Sturdy Case For Rough Environment
The main reason for purchasing this case is because I often work in a workshop involving welding equipment and I usually bring my 14-inch MacBook Pro which fits nicely at the bottom. I think even the 16" will also fit. Fireproof is important because there's a lot of sparks when doing welding. The hardshell case should be able to protect against contact with metals and sharp items in the lab.The case is nice and sturdy and it's lightweight. It is also waterproof, which is also an important feature. The color coded pocket folders are a plus, more than I need for my documents and lab reports. Having combination lock is also a plus.To be honest, I haven't use it yet because I'm still at home for summer vacation but it will be used extensively when I go back to college.I will provide an update of how this case fare once it has been used. Overall I'm happy with the case. I like black and the color is nice. We've bought Colcase brand in the past and have had good experience with them.

Untested but I'm sure it works
Thankfully, we can't speak to how fire-proof the case is, but it does give us some peace of mind for all of our important documents. It gives off a very 80s/90s briefcase vibe. Stores everything we need for it too and the file folders allows for more organization if you're a little OCD.
