This was a great outdoor enhancement that I put up to provide my grandson shade over his sandbox. It was easy to install and it provides enough shade that I don't worry about him getting sun burn.

I ordered two of these. Out of the six seams in total, only three were threaded properly so that they would screw together, and I switched them up and tried every combination. It was so frustrating. Can't use it if the poles aren't going to thread together. Awful!

If you are using these for lights or another project that isn't going to put a lot of tension on the poles, then they are great. We are using it for a sun shade in our backyard and really putting tension on them and I am worried about durability. They are bending and pulling hard at the first connection and we had to put an anchor on one of them to hold it steady. I think if the threading area was longer, maybe 8 or even 10 inches and the pole material was a tad bit thicker, these would hold without an anchor. I'd be willing to pay more for those upgrades. This is day 1 so I'm hoping they hold up through the summer and monsoons. I will try to post an update at the end of the summer.
