This Nail Tool Sterilizer poured smoke out of it when we first used it. It was clearly burning something off of something but I have no idea what. We had to use it outside the first time and let it run for awhile and until it was burned off. It does come with protective film (a plastic) on many of the inside pieces. We made sure all of these were off first. Take out EVERYTHING and look all around the pieces to make sure it was all off. Even after doing this we still had the smoke and there was no sign of anything. The smoking happened almost immediately which makes it seem like it had something to do with the heating coils themselves though there didn't appear to be anything on them. Anyway, after letting it burn whatever it was off (outside) we were able to use this with no problem inside. No smell. No smoke. It heats quickly and seems to do a good job sterilizing. It's well made and easy to use.

This is a good step in my usual nail and Beauty tool cleaning routine.It worked just as expected. I did not notice any smell. The product came well packaged and secure. The inside is sealed with blue plastic that must come off completely before use.The temperature goes up to 220 Celsius which is over 400 Fahrenheit.This has a timer and shuts off automatically on ce it reaches the time you set it to.
