I like this kit, but also a lot of room for improvement. I’ve used the previous SmallRig iPhone cages and they were far better than this plastic kit. Your phone provides most of the stability, but the plastic case doesn’t hold very tightly to the phone. The kit should ship with the 17mm threaded adapters. The threaded adapter also keeps the optics a lot further for the iPhone lens than previous cage which I don’t like because I want no extra space.Once the hand hold is on the case it will hold the phone better, but the lock release for that accessory is on the bottom and you can barely detach your phone once you have attached to a tripod.Even with all issues above I bought two of these kits so that I can transfer the same phone between different tripods.

As a grip, I really like the bottom attachment to keep the camera steady while videoing. However, having somewhat smaller hands, I cannot reach from the grip to the camera controls on my 16 Pro. It actually gets in the way quite a bit. My husband has very long fingers and can use the controls, but he didn’t find it all that comfortable.The case itself is a little thin. It’s nice that it’s not bulky, but I’m unsure of the actual protection it would provide if the phone dropped. It’s really just a way to attach all the cool SmallRig accessories to the phone. I do LOVE that I can mount the phone to a tripod with this, but obviously you're stuck with only a vertical shot.I also wish it came with at least one camera filter for the filter holder so that this was a more complete set. Otherwise you're just getting a grip and a holder for filters you have to buy separately.

I bought this along with a 125$ 67mm smallrig filter kit. Upon arrival I still need to buy another piece I guess to connect the filters to this product. So confusing. I’m just gonna return them both. So aggravating.Also the grip handle is practically useless. Unless you have ET length fingers, this makes the already weirdly placed camera control button even worse.

This is a great case for my iPhone. It gives me an attachment where I can hold the phone a little bit more stable above my head. If it's nicely in my hand and works great!

I was hoping for a good experience with this but was sadly disappointed. The case alone is great, and the filter mounts fit perfectly, but the “Capture Grip” is not good.
