I haven't taken piano lessons for years and years, but I'm still fairly advanced for someone without a lot of instruction. I especially like playing classical music because it helps me to improve my playing. This book has several lovely pieces in it that satisfy my needs and my affection for classical music -- but they're not too terribly long, either, which means that I can sit down a play four or five before getting up again. There's a good mix of older and more contemporary pieces, and I enjoy nearly all of them.

It contains music that is on a bit higher level of difficulty than the Red or Blue Book ( which are excellent as well). there is a mix of shrt works and lengthier ones I the selections are all chosen to represent their composers and are presented in chronological order. Good book if you are a player or teacher and purchase it to use with your students.

I have a piano student who really wanted to learn Bagatelle. After hearing a friend playing it, she loved it. This book was recommend by another piano teacher and I'm very happy with it. It's certainly not for the beginner pianist. Filled with wonderful, classical music, any piano student wanting to learn from some of the most famous composers of our time will enjoy working out of this challenging book.

I was looking for some new piano music. I wanted some Intermediate-level piano solo Christmas music, but I stumbled on this book and ordered it. It is really fun! During the 8 years I took piano lessons, I thought I had studied all the important "classical" composers. But this book is full of delightful intermediate classical music from composers I was not aware of! I'm enjoying it immensely. Still looking for that Christmas music, though...

Simple and short but elegant pieces. I played piano 10+ years ago and am just getting back into it. I am enjoying working my way through the songs. I just wish the book was spiral bound so it would stay open better when playing.
