The main pocket has a large zippered pocket, a pocket large enough for glasses or a large iPhone and two smaller pockets for a pen and other small accessories. The out pocket has a large zippered mesh pocket. Both interior zippered can handle coins.

Q: Can the strap be deteached or does it have to go on over your head?

Strap detaches and it is well designed. Good news is that it has a safety built in so it is difficult for someone to snatch it. In addition, you can add a lock or clip to make it impossible to disconnect. With a built-in wire for cutting resistance, this is my go-to bag when traveling.

yes. for instance, the bag can be locked on to the back of a chair while you at a restaurant. i've purchased three of these bags. i took one on a trip to Ecuador and felt completely safe at various markets.
