This is so easy to use, I should have ordered this years ago. The nice stainless steel is sharp and very durable. This was reasonably priced, and a nice tool to have in the kitchen especially if you bake pies and cakes often, as this is a versatile tool that slices pies and cakes perfectly, slicing perfectly even slices every time.

Want to make sure your pie is evenly distributed between guests? This works perfectly to mark to cake or pie. Note that this isn't meant to be used to cut all the way through, but for some pies it will cut through. Just be careful when cleaning as the edges are pretty sharp.

If your are cutting a pie in a store bought pie pan, such as a pumpkin pie from the grocery store bakery, it fits just right. However, my pie pans, that I bake with at home, are larger and the cutter doesn't cut a complete slice. But, it does leave enough of a line for me to finish the cut myself. So, it perfectly measures the slices for me, cuts most of it, and gives me a beautifuly cut pie with beautiful slices to serve.

The cutter doesn't cut deep enough to cut in anything but aluminum pie pans. It will leave cut marks, but does not cut the crust on the bottom.

Got both the 8 slice and the 6 slice cutter. They are a pain to clean but are great at what they were designed for. I suggest you sit them atop the pie and use a knife to slice along the edges of the pieces. Only need one cut for each slice. Less cleaning.On one, the weld at the center broke on one wedge, but doing it my way does not stress the press so it should last ages.Yes, you CAN press the cutter directly into the pie, but with the variations in pie tins, all the wedges may not separate fully and you will still have to cut.Would I buy them again... Yep and so should you.

This 8-SLICE PIE CUTTER PRESS makes quick work of dividing an 8-, 9-, or 10-inch pie into eight equal wedges. You simply take hold of the handles, center the frame over the pie, and press down. It's a good idea to end with a slight rocking motion, to finish cutting the thicker crust on the rim of the pie dish. You will still need a knife or a pie server with a serrated edge to finish separating the wedges.The cutter works best on a pie that has completely cooled. If the pie filling hasn't set up, the cut pie slices will want to fall apart when you take them out of the baking dish. This cutter makes fairly small servings, so I usually prefer my 6-Slice Pie Cutter Press, or slightly better quality American Metalcraft 6-Cut Pie Cutter. This pie cutter is stainless steel, and is dishwasher safe. I've been hand washing mine, because it takes up a lot of space in the dishwasher, but it's easy to wash.
