Redecker Ostrich Feather Duster with Varnished Wooden Handle, 31-1/2-Inches, Light

I have tried every feather duster on the market and the effectiveness of Redecker’s ostrich feather dusters in removing dust is unparalleled. I waited to purchase this feather duster because of the cost. Reading reviews of lesser priced ostrich feathers did not move me either and brought me back to this one. This is a beautiful cleaning tool that looks wonderful hanging in the laundry room with other Redecker brushes. I am actually encouraged to clean (what has become of me...) but think it's more about having the right tool for any job. This duster can handle my antiques, mirrors, art and objects without fear of damage. Love the color, the feathers, the wood and leather but there is a staple, a regular "swingline" type of staple on the black leather, highly visible, an alien as if a cheap tag was stapled to it (which was not the case). I was afraid to take it out... like pulling that thread that could unravel the whole sweater. As a person in design, the very last details matter and if this was an intentional finish to hold the leather to the wood, it's inconsistent with the entire aesthetic.UPDATE:Lost a feather, it fell out while light dusting from that poorly attached leather band... with the "swingline" style staple, not adequate to hold this together. Tucked it back in and will have to do a serious glue job to hold it together. Style a sucker for the aesthetic but this detail is such a miss.

Immediately noticed a very strong chemical odor which made me very nauseous due to multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). I am unable to return it as I immediately wrapped it in plastic and put it in the garbage.

This duster makes light dusting feel like less of a chore. Since dusting is more enjoyable I do it more often, things get less dusty, and I'm spending a lot less time doing it overall. It arrived in good shape, the packaging protected it from being crushed. Way more environmentally friendly than micro-fiber.The only thing that gives me any pause is the leather piece that holds the feathers together where they meet the handle. It could be more sturdily attached. It hasn't been an issue but I could see it being a long-term durability issue.

is a great duster for the money. works very well. no extra feathers coming loose. wish amazon would not force sellers to beg for reviews before the product has been use for at least 30 days to get a real feel for it. That said, this is a really well made feather duster. long thick group of feathers. solid well made and shaped handle. Have a feeling, will have and use it for years. Have bought other such products that had feathers cheaply banded to a stick and 1st time used em, feathers falling out, creating a mess of its own. This duster, worth the few extra bucks cost, over the junk I have lost money on in the past. If you are tired of wasting your money and cleaning up bits of feathers or not too swift leaving dust where it can't reach or knocking over everything that isn't glued down, can't go wrong spending an extra dollar or two on this quality duster.

I thought by not buying the cheapest duster, & instead opted for the one with great reviews. It was very disappointing to open the box to find there was a good size chunk along with fairly long crack. They were on the handle right where it meets the black to secure the feathers. Both had been varnished over. That should speak volumes for Redecker quality control.

EXCELLENT. I AM NOW LOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT HEADS FOR THE EXTENTION FEATHER DUSTER AND ALL I CAN FIND IS THE WHOLE EXTENTION DUSTER. THE POLE NEVER WEARS OUT. I JUST NEED NEW FEATHERS.

This is my second duster an I have recommended it to others. It actually picks up the dust instead of pushing it around.
