Generally ignorant about thread, but impressed by the product.
I'm by no means an expert on thread. In fact, just the exact opposite. I'm mostly an idiot about it. I don't sew much at all. That's a fact. But because I'm mostly dumb about such things, I have been known to buy dollar-store multi-thread boxes that cost... well... a dollar. Very poor experiences from those purchases. In this case, I have an old coat that dates back to the 1970's and the cuffs are aging and breaking down. I've worked in the past with leather products (not often, but when I needed something I could not easily buy) with some success. In this case, I intend on repairing that jacket by sewing a 2"x12" piece of fine, very thin leather, folded in half, at the cuffs (with some "adjusting work" to make it "look reasonably well-done.") I was almost certain that dollar-store thread was out of the picture, but I also didn't want to use leather lacing which would have looked ridiculous. So I wanted something strong but "thread-like."I decided to spend the money (yeah, it is a lot to spend on a spool of thread but I'm more practical than fashion, so I will make good use of this dark green color) on this product. I wasn't sure how much 4 ounces was (it is a lot more than I had imagined), but now that I've seen it, touched it, and tried to break it, I've decided I really love this stuff. In fact, I think I'll never buy any other kind of thread. Not only is it workable in the needles I have handy, but it feels very much like thread I'm used to using. It works very easily. But the stuff is really unbreakable. It's shockingly strong, while also easy to use just like cheaper thread I've used before (with disappointments.)I'm not saying there aren't better balances between cost and quality. I wouldn't know, to be honest. But one thing I am sure of is that I'm not disappointed with the quality (it's far better than I'd hoped for) and it turns out that 4 ounces is a huge amount, too. Way more than I expected to receive. It will last for the rest of my life (I'm sad to tell the seller.)Thinking more "military-minded" (I just escaped the Vietnam draft by ... weeks ... literally), I can see why this might be the "go to" thread. It just "works." On everything. I'd have no problem considering using it to stitch holes in canvas, for example, instead of other options. In fact, I'd use it anywhere thread might be used whether needed for strength, or not. (There are other more terrible military uses this stuff would be good for, but I won't mention them. But it is very strong thread. So I'll leave it there.)I'm impressed and I don't have any doubts that I spent my money well. If, for some reason, I decide I need more thread for what meager sewing needs I have, I'll probably stay with this kind of thread and this seller (so long as they are as good at getting it to me nearly as quickly and with quality this good.)Yeah, I'm happy and excited. But keep in mind I'm also uneducated in this topic, too. But my impressions are really good, right now.

Sturdy stuff - and a lot of it
This stuff is great. I already used it to hang stuff up and sew a belt together. I plan on using it to sew a backpack together in the future. There's so much thread, I feel like this will last me forever. The strength isn't quite what I expected. I was able to snap a thread by winding it around my fingers and pulling hard. However, when I did the same to ordinary thread, I realized just how weak thread normally is and was reassured of the strength of the Kevlar.

Stronger in Pairs, Worth the Money!
Folks this thread will do exactly what you want. I’m a motorcycle rider so that’s the area I’m referencing to. Worked great on my racer gloves, and hasn’t frayed in a month of riding. I’ll admit that you should double the stitches in high tension areas, but the thread is so thin it’ll go through the same hole on the way back.

Good thread, decent breaking point
This is good thread. It isn’t as strong as you might want but it handles like normal thread and you get a lot of it on the 4 oz. spool. It is easy to work with, feeds well into a needle or sail needle and can be used to mend webbing, nylon packs, pouches and other corduroy style fabrics. The breaking strength on this is around 5 lbs. I did several lift tests with this attached to a small wooden handle and then lifted various weights. The breaks were almost always in the middle of the thread at about the 5 lb. mark. Pretty good for thread. I don’t think this would be suitable for stitching on boots but it would for repairing a tennis shoe or similar fabric. The thread will burn on its own. When sewn into fabric, it is more fire retardant. I sewed two pieces of carbon fiber felt (welding blanket) with this thread then built a fire in a small stove on top of it. The carbon fiber felt does not burn but the thread, when directly under the stove lost the outer covering (cotton) and the bare internal kevlar blend was left. It didn’t burn through but it was weakened substantially. Overall, it is good solid thread for general and outdoor use.

Dissapointed
The product is fine. The picture of the product is misleading. It shows a picture of 4 rolls each a different color. I thought they all 4 came with the order. So my first order was a yellow that I did not want. So I re ordered to get a brown. Could not find a black which I really needed. Dissapointed
