I have zero complaints about this toy. Assembly took less than 10min, which included tracking down a screwdriver I didn't need yet (gotta go buy batteries). The door goes on before the house goes to the base. Once clicked all the way together, the door does not come off. Yes, the roof comes off. That is where all of the pieces are stored. Of course, it has to be easily removed for an 18m old to take off. Once on, it did not come off, even with my 3 attacking it. The wreath has a removable piece that gets attached to the roof piece. It goes in with plastic tap screws. These are designed to be larger than their holes. You wiggle a little bit to get the first ridge in. Then you can press with your thumb or tap lightly with a hammer or back of a screwdriver. If you are really struggling, just take the screwdriver and put the point in. That will widen the whole just a smidge so you can tap the screw in. Done. That was it. Your only real assembly was putting that plate on. There are more pieces of decoration than there are placement spots which led to more fun decorating in different ways. Technically, this toy says 18m+. My walking 10m old loves it. The 4 and 5yr old decorate. He tears it apart. Lol. Very cute Christmas toy, just like the matching tree. Well worth the approx 20 bucks. Maybe I'll grab the snowman, too

We do a real gingerbread house every year at Christmas and we wanted our youngest son to have his “own.” Turns out, our 2 yo and 5yo like this better than making the real thing! The candy pieces are so cute & there are candy canes to put in the snowy area. Even the wreath plays festive Christmas songs when tapped. The thing I enjoy most though is that all of the pieces can be stored right inside the house if you take off the roof. Lessens the chance of losing them! I’d highly recommend this product & I’m sure it’ll be one of the first Christmas items our kids ask to get back out next year!

My granddaughter loves this gingerbread house. They will be bringing it out at Christmas time for years to come.Only problem is that the top falls off easily. Wish there was a way to secure it.Live how the pieces store inside.

I was leary to purchase this house due to some reviews questioning the quality of the product. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the toy is pretty well made. It's adorable and gives little ones a chance to interact with a toy that gets them excited about Christmas! There isn't much on the market for holiday themed toys for small children, so I appreciate that Step 2 designed several products to make this time of the year special. My daughter gravitates towards all of the breakable decor, so giving her holiday toys designed just for her age is wonderful.As far as my rating, I would have rated it 5 stars had it included 6 candy canes instead of 4. There are 6 holes for them to stand in, and my daughter is confused as to why she only has 4 candy canes. I would have preferred that there were either only 4 holes, or that 2 more candy canes were included. Also, the wreath has to be hit with my hand in order for it to play a Christmas tune even though we've tried different batteries and have readjusted it. Step2 is correcting the issue by sending me another wreath. Their customer service representative was very helpful and friendly, and that's a rare quality in a company now days.My toddler recently turned 3 and this toy is very enjoyable for her because she enjoys changing out the candies and using her other figurines to interact with the house and gingerbread man. I definitely recommend this toy, especially if you can catch it on sale. I wouldn't pay the high prices that some of the third party retailers are charging. We purchased this for $24 from Amazon and I think that was a very fair price.

It’s very cute and plays music. My toddlers (1 and 3) have been storing their stuffed snowballs inside of it and love the music. It knocks over easily, but is still a lot of fun and very cute.

My granddaughter loves this! Durable, young child friendly, parent friendly for cleanup with everything stored easily inside, and enough options to even entice her 12 year old sister to play. It will be a great toy for the next couple of Christmas seasons.

My children ages 2 and 5 love this house. I didn’t have any issue inserting the back screws like others said, but I did find they were very sharp on the other end. To fix this issue, I simply used my kitchen scissors to remove the tips of the plastic screws. The roof hasn’t fallen off once, but that could be that my children are older. There are many decorative parts, it’s a wonderful size, and looks great in my house. I actually like this more than the Christmas tree, which we purchased last year.

I purchased two of these Gingerbread Houses, and will keep them for the activity I purchased them for, but I'm really frustrated with attempting the assembly. I had read reviews, but liked the finished picture, so purchased anyway. It is extremely difficult to put the screws in to hold the wreath, mostly because the holes are way too small. In addition, you really have to hammer those screws in. I completely agree with the comment of it being "top heavy". The "snow caps" fall off, and mostly everything else as well. I gave it a 3 star rating because the appearance is cute. Really expensive for the poor sturdiness of the product. I will probably only get one use out of them. However, the upside is that I received them very quickly, so I'm thankful to the provider for that.
