1000% worth every penny
I’ll never say enough great things about this. The affordability, the ease to clean, the options of grate/shred size. Shreds blocks of cheese in seconds, attaches/detaches easily! We’ve fully converted to shredding our own cheese because of this and we will never go without again!

Great attachment
Great product, I've had my mixer for 47 years and was so impressed that the attachment ready worked properly. I really do enjoy shredding multiple cheeses at once to freeze.

Learning Curve
Ok, so I ordered this attachment because I have a KitchenAid mixer that I use often and my Thanksgiving dish is always Mac and Cheese. Shredding by hand is annoying so I decided to purchase an attachment to use this year. Firstly, easy to connect to mixer. Secondly a breeze to clean even if by hand. Now since there are metal parts I am allowing it to air dry before putting it away. On to the main topic, HOW DOES IT SHRED? Well I will be honest here. I started with a soft cheese and realized quickly that nah this is not going to work well. I had a small round of Gouda and with the first try the mixer was too low and the cheese way too soft. So I played it smart I put all the cheeses in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. Eureka! I have found the sweet spot, I also used the mixer at a higher speed so that the rubbing of the shredded cheese would send it out the opening. When I did the first try the soft cheese stayed in the cylinder because it was spinning too slow and the cheese was too soft. I have to say this is a purchase of the year for me. Great value for great results, I might make Mac and Cheese more often. If you are thinking of buying try it, if you are shredding soft cheese flash freeze them first and it will shred like butter. I hope my extremely detailed review helps someone.Thank you!

Works great
Easy to attach to mixer. Dishwasher safe. My wife wanted to shred her own block cheese and this grater was amazing. The first try did not go well because I had the speed too high and put the cheese in too fast. The cheese clumped inside the grater and I had to scrape it out with a fork. On the second try I set the speed to 1 and gently pushed the cheese into the grater and it still went through half a huge block of cheese (4"x4"x2") in a minute. the negatives are you have to cut the block into strips that fit into the funnel of the grater (so I since bought a nice wire cheese slicer- using a knife to slice cheddar is too much work). Also, a little bit of cheese ends up stuck between the body of the grater and the grating wheel so when you remove the wheel you have to clean out the grater, but the whole process is way nicer than doing it by hand. If you lift the back of the mixer up just a little, the cheese falls out even better. Mozzarella grated easier I think because it is softer. Or maybe it was because of the temperature. I'm going to remove the cheddar from the fridge and let it warm up a little next time and see if that makes it shred easier.

Great product, terrible instructions
Worked great right out of the box. For cheese grading do NOT use it on the recommended setting of 6-8 speed. Lower/slower is better as the cheese only packs into the shredder and doesn't discharge into your container. You are going to have to play with the settings to get your first slice/shreds down pat. Overall though, 5 stars.

Grate As A Grater
Absolutely love this grater/slicer attachment. I grated a whole 16 oz block of cheese in a couple minutes.i don't think a regular size cucumber would fit in top but the mini English cucumbers do. it sliced them right up.You do have to stop and scoop out the cheese if the cheese is a softer cheese but it still worked faster than me grating it by hand and scraping my knuckles or using the one you turn by hand which causes my hands to cramp up. Overall GRATE product.

Terrible
This is a waste of money! The lock doesn’t work. It unlocks every two seconds while you’re using it and the blade comes out. The small shredder can take big pieces. I was shredding onions and potatoes for latkes and it was too hard for it. Then switched to the big one. Still you need to put the mixer on a really high speed so it can take shredding a potato. The slicer sucks!! I sliced radishes, and it is super thick and it breaks the end of the slices. It doesn’t give you a whole slice without breaking it and getting small pieces all over.Too bad I was too busy dealing with this crap that I didn’t take pictures of it. DON’T BUY IT BETTER TO SPEND A FEW MORE BUCKS AND GETTING THE REAL DEAL THAT WILL WORK PROPERLY AND WILL LAST FOR A LONG TIME.
