bullet proof - well almost.
I do a lot of yard work, construction work and inspection in crawlspaces under houses. I put knee pads to the test. I also plan to use these for fly-fishing in small technical streams that require you to get on your knees to provide a low profile so you do not spook the fish. Because there is no cloth they will not hold water. As a past Navy Diver, I would use these if diving and working over coral, barnacles or other sharp bottoms. I love how these do not make me sweat as much as other knee pads do as the pads keep the plastic off your skin and allows for better air flow. The joint is as good as any other and is not stiff at all. The strap locks work great and do not come undone as those push button release straps. The strap adjustment could be better. But overall after 50 some years of construction and other work these are the best knee pads I've had to date.

Everyone in my industry uses these
Coal miner here, everyone who wears knee pads uses these and so i gave them a try. For context: im an electrician/maintenance so I'm always on my knees making cable splices and working on equipment and these hold up to the rugged conditions in the coal mines so that should be all you need to hear. The fitment takes some getting used to but they're comfortable and definitely worth it.

You want these.
Best knee pads out there. Used daily for work and 3 times a week for airsoft. I used to skate in these.You want durable, comfort and stylish good looks all in one knee pad....these are your friends.I've owned this style of knee pads repeatedly over the years and haven't seen or used anything better.Only gripes is that during hot weather they can get a little sweaty and if you want a quite knee pad you gotta throw a little wax near the hinges to quite them down.Would buy again. Have bought again. Will buy again.

Faulty strap.
Don’t strap it on too tight. The strap broke after a few uses.
