Sobrasada from Mallorca, The Spanish spredable Sausage (About 400g)

Fell in love with sobresada on toast with truffle honey drizzled on top when we were in Madrid. This stuff makes it simple to recreate at home. De. Lish. Us. Savoury, mildly spiced, really yummy. I hate truffle but can't recommend the truffle honey drizzle high enough. Thanks, Spain!

Good flavour, it reminds me of my hometown, for easier spreading, will need to be out of the fridge for at least half hour.

Wonderful product. Having lived in Mallorca for 20 years this Sobrasada sausage is one of the many food products I miss - unless now as I have discovered it on Amazon! It's the one I used to buy and use while living in Mallorca and being able to buy it here in the UK is a joy! It adds a unique dimension in consistency and flavour to so many dishes. The other great assets are that a little goes a long way and it lasts in the fridge!

This is the first time we have bought this particular sausage and we have not been not been disappointed. This is the real taste of Spain and when we use it (frequently) we are reminded of happy holidays in the sun.This product can be added to just about anything not just Spanish dishes and makes a lovely rich sauce that would enhance any dish. I highly recommend this product which arrived on time and was well packed.

Was nice but certainly not the same as we had in Majorca Palma the other week, perhaps a different company?

I am in no way an expert in the field of Sobrasada as only had it once on toast at a cafe down a side street in Mahon, on the island of Minorca. But I do know that I like it quite a bit, so I thought I would give this a go as could get it delivered home via Amazon uk.As much as I have enjoyed it, I have to say I thought it was a little on the bland side not as much taste as I thought I remembered. I would not rush to buy again but would try another one from a different supplier and maybe try to pick a piquant one to see if any better.

We normally use just regular old chorizo but bought this after watching Rick Stein using it in Spain. It is soft so you can mush it into whatever you are making and it leaves a rich delicious sauce. It can also be spread on bread peasant style. What's not to like?
