Seems very well made
Though I didn't know about the brand, i see good amazon reviews and more importantly this brand performed quite well in project farm testing, which I really trust(though that was for the cast iron variant of this brand).I am mostly into woodworking and occasionally need to do some metalwork, so I installed this in a portable jig I made to clamp it in my existing woodworking vise. Maybe I will have space and need some day to permanently install it and bring it to its full potential. This vise seems to be nice balance of quality vs cost.

PERFECT - Just the upgrade I needed.
VERY happy with this upgrade. It operates like butter, finished well (no burrs, schmoo, or other cheap oversights) and grips everything I've thrown at it without failing or slipping once.Tomorrow it will see over 250ft-lbs of torque. My previous vice was rotating at the base with similar force. I'll update the review if this one moves at all.

A great bench vise.
I am very pleased with this vise. It’s a good size and seems extremely well built. I am glad I purchased this at a reasonable price.

Good oversized vise for medium duty stuff
Firstly... I do like this vise! It is a 6.5 inch heavy beast. It is my first real bench vise as I've always made due with and ancient "Shopmate 85", an antique Craftsmen 2" clamp-on vise, assorted jigs or C-clamps. So my perspectives may be considered limited.I will say that the depth and width was what I was looking for and the slight provision for round stuff should be good too. Closing and opening was good, but not a precision smooth, as expected for this price range bench vise. Some wiggle and side to side play was to be expected and not excessive. There is the typical spring to take up the slop of the main screw and a drilled hole for the roll pin to hold the spring in place and I would have like to have a groove and big e-clip instead. That is a definite future weak point I would guess, as the video review from "Project Farm" pointed out. May vice was not well greased and required some generous smearing all over the threads and slide areas. It may not be as heavy duty as I would hope, but for the projects I have lined up, it will be strong enough. I'm not looking to beat on it with a 20lb. sledge or wrench 1/4 inch bar stock straight. The most obvious weakness is the base and I should have realized that 270 degree swing is going to be one of those wide smile grooved base. It has a single hold down bolt to ride that 270 degree sweep. Also, the square head of the bolt does not seat broadly in the groove, but more like dainty straddle. Only the 2mm edge does the grabbing of the groove when engaged. I think I can slightly improve the hold by making a special washer and it might cut the swing to 260, but should improve the hold? I will not try to tighten down that base lock tighter than "hand-tight" as I will very likely shorten the live of the edges of the groove or limited bite of the bolt.Quick Update: The hold down bolt slips easily when I have about 40 foot pounds of side force. I tried to hand tighten, as per instructions, to as hard tight as I could and the vise dose slip. I'll have to make that special washer sooner than I thought.

The DIY vise to get!
Did my research and this is the best bang for buck in a DIY vise for your garage or workshop. Came packed fully encased in styro in a robust undamaged box. Finish and operation are flawless. Has a nice looking greyish bluish powder coat finish that is very industrial looking. All advertised specs were right on except for the crossbar length. It is 9.5" instead of the stated 10.5".Jaws line up perfectly, and the open/close action is smooth on the greased screw spindle.Mounting mine on 1/4" steel plate over 1" plywood work bench surface with some 1/4" flat bar underneath the front bolts. Can't fit another full plate underneath due to bench design. This ductile iron vise should last me a lifetime. Very pleased.
