Beautiful retro style
I like everything about this microphone, the classic sound very little feedback. A great microphone at a great price.

So good, I bought another!
Right out of the package, I decided to go full throttle and test it in a recording setting. The vocal sound quality is right where I like it. Very comparable to my e835.I decided to use this mic for the recording, because I like the sound so much.Well worth it. Good solid metal build. (I like it better than the vintage Shure)

Great Mic
I’m a vocalist and sing 40’s and 50’s music a cappella for seniors. For my purpose it has a great sound and lends authenticity to my music. I’m tickled pink 👍

PSA not for use with phantom power enabled
Everything was physically to my liking. When first trying out, the sound quality was horrendous. Tin can, all treble, little mid, and no bass. Come to find out the phantom power on the PA was on. Once corrected, it all came alive. Not the best quality audio, but not bad for the price. Unsure what would be the outcome if you needed phantom power for other mics that would be using it.

Surprising quality for the studio
I purchased this on a whim. Having looked at another manufacturer (not the original), which I thought it got pricey with the shipping, I was thrilled to find Pyle Audio had a version too. I have used Pyle mics in the past and have been pleasantly surprised that they stand up well against the far more expensive mics I have in the studio. So, for what I was thinking would make a great looking ornamental piece of the past in my small studio, quickly surprised me yet again. The clarity and recording quality of this microphone was found to be exceptional for the price. Great presence and depth. On the down side it is VERY sensitive to vibrations - like cable, mic stand etc. So hand-held is not a good idea apart from great looking selfies. With a little isolation it does improve.All-in-all it does more than you expect and gives a pretty good rendition of the 50/60's sound - did I say the noise level was very low too!btw the delivery was fast - the information on the case (yes it comes with a case) says this is a 6000 ohm impedance - I checked with Pyle. That is incorrect it is 600 ohm but not balanced.

GIG TESTED and compared to sure beta. Still good mic
The media could not be loaded. I love this microphone. Yeah the box was a little crappy, so what? The sure beta only comes with a Friggen bag. Anyway, this thing is shiny as a polished turd. I used it playing at a bars several nights. Sound? My only complaint is the built in wind screen doesn’t filter out your p’s or s’s or breaths. It’s kinda like a video camera on a windy day. But the vocals sound good. Maybe a pop filter would help this but other than that the mic sounds great. Compared to the sure beta retro I got for Christmas it sounds like $55 however this is definitely worth the money and in my experience it is a satisfyingly heavy, durable all metal, decent/good sounding microphone and definitely worth it if you can’t afford the sure counterpart. But if you can afford the price difference the sure is the way to go

Pyle PDMICR68SL
This mic is prone to feedback without a wind screen. And that means the PLosives, BLasts, Sizzling S's & Teety T's are vocals that one needs to be wary of without a wind sock/screen. All of that is controlled & tamed with a sufficient wind screen. That Covid washable mask actually has a use with this mic, Not only does it keep the wind noise & feedback under control, it'll keep saliva and humidity from your voice from soaking the mic head.I gave it 3 stars for sound quality because of the feedback & wind screen. Value for the money 4 stars, back to feedback vs price. Sturdiness if the exterior is that criteria it's 5 stars for that. If singing in a bar, you don't want to fight the lead vocalist with one of these in their hand, it doesn't end well, the mic will only get bloody impacting on your face & skull. The internals are supposed to be shock mounted, so when they're done knocking you out like a heavyweight champion boxer. They go back to singing. They might be tired out from wailing on you with this hammer of a microphone. That said the internals should withstand some abuse, not that I want to drop it.The chrome steel is shinier than you'd get with a brushed steel Shure 55SH, so even as a prop a flash from a camera is going to be a blinding sunburst. We've all been behind the car in bright sun or been flashed by a camera LED flash bulb. still with all the negatives, it's a solid value. Recording & performing with it might have it's challenges. The mic I got is spec'ed to be on all the packaging. I prefer the spec & dimension numbers of the actual product to to those indicated on the html web site in parenthesis below:Frequency Range: 50Hz-15KHz (80-12K indicated)Sensitivity: -51 +/- 3 dB (-75 dB indicated)Mic Output Impedance: 600 Ohm +/- 30 Ohm (612 Ohms actual multimeter reading at the 1/4" TS)Dimensions: 2.2x3.1x7.4 (2.2x2,8x7.4 indicated)
