Gates ACK060822 Belt Drive Kit

This kit is perfect; fits great. However, the tensioner might look like it is too big until the tension on the belt is actually engaged and it's in the correct position. When I compared this to the part off the car (which was replaced by previous owner; Denso brand); the Gates tensioner was bigger on the spring end. However, since I was on a tight schedule and had no other choice, I decided to try installing it anyway. Fortunately, it worked out, because as the belt and tension was applied, it cleared the crank pulley just fine. The other parts fit perfectly, no question.

Purchased for 2001 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8L with Air Conditioning. I purchased this kit as it came with all three pieces for a reasonable price. I probably didn't need the idler, but it was a nice bonus and notably cheaper than purchasing the three items alone. Belt was made in USA whereas other hardware comes from Canada. Product appears to be high quality and I feel confident using. Accessory noise was noticeably reduced after installing this product. Installed in about 1 hour total with minimal complexity. Item does not include instructions other than safety warnings, but it is straight forward. Do NOT cut off the old belt for your safety! I used a 1/2" breaker bar to move the tensioner to allow belt installation. The previous unit I had did not have as convenient tensioning facility. The tensioner is attached with a 10mm (used ratcheting box wrench) and idler with 15mm (used standard socket).

Very unhappy! Says will fit my 2006 Dodge grand caravan 3.3 L flex fuel. Everything fits but the Tensioner! I would like to get the correct tensioner that actually fits on my vehicle this was too big! Id like the correct one and you send the correct one and pay for returning the one that doesn't fit.

Bought for my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L. As stated by others, there is a difference in the idler that causes the bolt that secures it to be about 3/8 in longer. (The insert in the OEM idler has an attached washer that spaces the bolt out) I tried to run the bolt down as others have stated, but I was not comfortable with it, so I cut the extra 3/8 off with a hacksaw. It fit perfect after that. Aside of the small issue with the idler, everything fit perfect and all the squealing my van was making has stopped. I would highly recommend this product as long as you are prepared for the idler pulley bolt.

The belt is decent quality and is the right length for "with AC" although every 3.3L might have AC, not sure. The idler pulley had some wobble to it after 20 miles which can't be taken out by re-tightening. It might not be a big deal, but the OEM original had no play at all (wondering if I should put the old one back on). On the positive side, the price is definitely right for this kit. Seperately, the belt and the tensioner go for ~ $80. Installed on 2006 Chrysler T&C minivan easily. Still working after 100 miles.

Easy to install, make sure to youtube video it will same some time and frustration. Advance has a good rental tool that can help. This is a great quality set given the price. The tensioner alone is 45 at the parts stores add the belt and idler as well can't beat the deal. Our van had 109K miles and the original part and it gave away took it off you could move it freely with your hand, Dayco was stamped beside Chrysler Penta so very happy with an upgraded Gates part(s).

This kit does not really fit a 2005 T&C with a 3.8 engine. The belt is the only component I could put on directly. Both of the other two components needed triage. 1-The idler pulley in this kit has a small sleeve which fits into the idler pulley bearing and centers the bolt. This sleeve has a top detent ring which is thinner than the OEM part. Thus, if you use the OEM bolt-my kit did not come with bolts-it sticks out an extra 3/8", and you need to add a washer to make it fit. To test if this is the case for your application bottom out the bolt on the pulley with the sleeve in, and mark the position it sticks out from the other side of the pulley. Then try it w/ the pulley you removed. If the mark on the bolt is not flush, you have a problem. The second issue is the tensioner. Its diameter is a full 1/2" larger than the OEM one. This brings the spring housing VERY close to the harmonic balancer/crankshaft pulley. To save time I removed the pulley from the new tensioner and installed it on the OEM one-you will need an impact driver to remove the old pulley from the old tensioner if you go this route, and you could put some Locktite blue on the old pulley bolt. Last, had I been able to use the GATES tensioner, the OEM bolt would have been too long, just like the one for the idler pulley. Bottom line, this kit might not be applicable for all the applications it is listed for.

we changed out 3 belts in last 2 years at local shop and the sqweek always showed up again a short time later ... found this kit on you tube as I was going to change it myself to save a buck. new tensioner is much stronger then the original and has relocated adjustment hole you can actually get a tool on. The old idler bearing was shot too so kit is well thought out. right parts for a complete fix that will likely last the rest of this vans service life - thank you Gates - oh yeah the price was about what I was paying the shop for just the belt
