The matte finish it done very well. The joysticks are very responsive. I recommend using the circle adapter for the most natural movement. The PCBs work well, but I only use them on single player units so there is no conflict for player 1 or player 2.Which the cost was a little better.

I took a chance on these as they had no review. I am very happy with my decision to do so. I really prefer the octagonal gate that is included to the standard square ones. It makes it easier to play old games that were meant for four way joysticks like pac man, burger time, or qix. With the octagonal gate, it is still an eight way joystick and can be used for things like fighters, but it provides an indent at right, left, up, and down in addition to the angles making it easier to tell that you are only hitting on direction for four way games. Not perfect, but much better. The stick has a satisfying amount of spring to it and I am able to pull of specials in fighters just fine with it unlike some of the cheaper kits available.The buttons really are the star of the show with this package though. They are using a MX style switch. They are extremely firm. You are not going to accidentally press these by leaving you fingers on the buttons. They are also much quieter than standard buttons. There is no activation click, so they may not be for everyone. I personally like the higher resistance of them and smoother operation. They really do feel solid and are rated for way more presses than a standard button.Be aware all the buttons are the same size. they fit in the holes I had on my panel that were for 30 mm buttons. I also had spots for select and start that were drilled for 24 mm buttons. Unfortunately these will not fit in there, so I will need to get four smaller buttons for those. Something to be aware of if you are replacing existing buttons.In summary, I am very happy with the feel of the joystick and the buttons. They both feel reassuringly sturdy and precise. The included octagonal gate helps with being able to feel where the joystick is for four way games while not hindering 8 way. This exceeded my expectations, just make sure that you understand these feel different and there are no small buttons.One tip, there are two connectors on the encoder boards that the joysticks could plug into. Make sure you plug into the one that is at the far end of the board from the USB port. If you plug into the other, it will not work. I think that one might designed to plug a USB cable in.

The Matte Black looks and feels greatOne of the buttons is sticking was when pressed out of the box. This is a good enough value that I'd still say it's worth it, these are less than half the price of name brand buttons

Love the buttons. Because they are based on keyboard switches they are quite quiet and super responsive. Joysticks have a great feel and are easily switched between 4 way and 8 way.I would highly recommend this product.

Han ido genial para mi proyecto. La palanca tipo sanwa esta bien, buen tacto, calidad media-alta.Los botones de lo mejor, no había probado ninguno con switches de teclado y me parecen muy buenos, un tacto distinto pero efectivos y suaves, además me gusta el sonido que hacen (bastante menos que los tradicionales).En definitiva un buen kit.
