Extech ETK30 Electrical Test Kit with AC Clamp Meter

This is a very good meter for the apprentice starting out or even the journeyman looking for a accurate,true rms meter without forking out several hundred bucks. I'm a 12 year electrician and needed a meter in a pinch when mine was stolen and ordered this set from Amazon. Out of the box it was very easy to use with a great display. I've doubled checked the readings I've got with other more expensive meters and the ETK 30 have been dead on. In my opinion it's at the top of the list in its price range

Good value with the recent sale. You basically get 1 meter for free. The measurements are fast and stable. It's a good upgrade from the cheap meters that I have and I was looking for a DC clamp meter. I like the backlit screen. I am taking off 1 star because I don't like the tip of the probes. They are barely exposed (think ball point pen) so you can't stick them down into sockets. You get 2 sets of the same probes where it would be nice to get different styles. Also the case is sort of nice but the pockets don't hold on to probes very well and the manual is just a bit too wide to fit in to the pocket. The NCV is nice in theory but it won't read on a standard outlet like my smaller handheld NCV. Also it never seems to turn off so I'm worried it will kill the battery in storage. These are minor nitpicks from an otherwise fantastic set of meters.

Works well and good price

Extech test kit is more than I expected. I'll have to do some catching up which is fine. The kit included an easy to understand guide. I should be able to handle any household project sense I have 200amp service. My new kit has 400amp max. For my skill level, somewhat south of a pro. I would have no problem. Telling folks its a great deal. Well under a buck and a half and loaded with all the bells and whistles.

It is an ok multimeter, for some reason I can't express feels a little cheap(probably the plastic and the orange color), but so far is working fine, and accurate...
