Drop spindle hand spinning kit - 2 natural wools…

Arrived promptly, well packaged. The kit is beautiful. The drop spindle has a lovely waxy finish to it and is lovely to use, and the wool is beautiful. The smell is divine, all sheepy and full of lovely floofy goodness. Really pleased, all round.

Good bundle. The spindle is a good beginner tool. There is enough wool to learn and experiment without danger of running out too soon. The enclosed booklet is ok but you really do need to visit YouTube as well to really get what it is telling you ( or maybe I'm just a visual learner).

The whorl doesn't have a notch to park the yarn being spinned whixh causes it to keep slipping. Others have said the same thing. Only buy a drop spindle with a notch in the whorl or invest in a Turkish spindle. The roving (wool) which comes with it is really poor quality and the snap of only about an inch so it cannot be drafted. The only way to use the roving is to try and pull off long piece and spread out the fibres and take off very thin sections without it breaking. The roving is also full of tiny bits of fibre like dog hair whixh stick to tour clothes and cover the floor. Overall I would say not good quality at all and definitely would not recommend it. If you want a kit buy a spindle with a good quality merino roving included and a notch in the whorl is a must.

Getting back to this after 20 years, very nice, except no notch on the side to hold the wool while spinning.

Arrived in good time although the box was a little battered inside the plastic postage bag. Contents as advertised. Instruction sheet could do with some diagrams to more fully explain how to attach wool to spindle and guide the beginner. The wool itself is gorgeous. Finding the spindle a little heavy but I guess this is due to lack of experience. Would recommend this item.

je n'avais jamais utilisé de fuseau et la notice est en anglais alors je trouve dommage qu'il n'y ai pas quelques dessins explicites dans la notice.J'ai aussi inversé la place du crochet pour avoir la fusaïole en bas ça me parait plus simple pour la débutante que je suis.Le colis contient au total 200g de laine agréable a filer .Je suis satisfaite.

Superschöne weiche Wolle, sauber kardiert, toll zu Spinnen. Die Spindel ist auch nicht zu schwer, läuft gut.

Superbe coffret ! J'ai vraiment adoré la qualité de la laine et du fuseau. 4 gross pelotes de laine mèche (qui sent encore un peu le mouton, j'adore) sont fournies avec, ainsi qu'une notice pour apprendre à filer (attention : en anglais et non illustrée, je suis donc allée voir des tuto sur Internet pour comprendre). Ensemble magnifique, je suis ravie de mon achat !

J'ai choisi ce kit pour tester le filage au fuseau et je suis ravie ! On prend très vite le coup de main, le fuseau est bien équilibré et la fibre de qualité.
