How to Invest in Real Estate: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Getting Started Kindle Edition

If I could recommend one book to start with for real estate investing, this would be it. While there is some overlap with the free Ultimate Beginner's Guide, this is a much better product. In this book, you don't get a whole lot of motivational fluff. You do, however, get a good introduction to several different aspects of investing, and a good introduction to some of the rules of thumb that apply to each. There are also real world examples of pepole who have used the strategies described and done well. All in all, I'd say that you should start here. You won't be an expert after reading this, but you will know what you need to learn and the whole process of becoming an investor will become less intimidating and daunting.

BiggerPockets is the worlds largest real estate investing community. Their self-published books are a reflection of the leadership that grew this brand so successfully. Josh Dorkin, and Brandon Turner have built an extremely successful business, community, and resource for anyone interested in learning about real estate investing. This book is the result of years of research, and teaching people how to achieve financial freedom through real estate.-This is the book that I plan to hand people when they ask me about real estate investing. I will be able to say "Start Here" and know that they are starting on the right path. How to Invest in Real Estate walks you through the entry level frequently asked questions, to setting up your finances to invest, finding deals, financing deals, exit strategies, and so much more. I would highly encourage anyone and everyone that has ever thought about investing in real estate to pick up this book, and read it before you do anything else!-After you've read this book, go checkout the BiggerPockets community to learn, network, and then take action!-Dave

This is a great, easy to read book! I began educating myself on the power of real estate about 3 months before reading this book, but as I had yet to make a deal, I figured I would pick up this book. From the various books I had already read, and the Bigger Pockets Podcast (also 5 stars, 10/10 would recommend that you listen to it) I already had a general understanding of many of the topics covered, but it allowed me to cement that knowledge and still pick up quite a few additional tidbits of information.This would be a great book for anyone just starting in real estate investing, or for someone that is seeking information on other strategies that may not be using currently.

Not a huge fan of this book too similar to the first book he’s written not really any new information

If you’re looking to get started in real estate investment, and have nary a clue as to where or how to begin, this book will get you started on your journey. It is about as basic as it gets - and that means that for most readers, it is probably too basic. That was certainly the case for me. Even for the rank beginner, a little more on the process and a couple deeper case studies (as opposed to podcast guest recaps) would have been helpful.

Excellent book, chock full of information. I got a copy for myself and a buddy, PLUS the eBook and audio version so I can listen while I'm at work.The audio version has a few errors, but is done very professionally.

This book has a lot of information to give the reader a solid overview of what to expect in the beginning of their REI journey. It also shares strategies that will help people to find the niche of REI that will align with the individuals goals. There isn't a ton of new content in the book but overall they did a great job to consolidate a lot of topics and give actionable steps. Great job Josh & Brandon!

All you need to know about this book is in the screenshot. It doesnt explain anything and if you got questions they forward you to their website "biggerpockets" which they mention at least once on EVERY page. AVOID this book.

It was great to read all the stories of people who have done it. This book does not dive into details and is very broad. It does provide what it intended to do and give a general idea of everything real estate. Thank you

If you want to get started in real estate, read this book. Not everything applies to Canadians but I still learned a lot.

This text is excellent to acquire basic knowledge of the subject. It is for people that are not familiar at all with Real Estate.
