Kodiak Furniture Tucson Full Size Futon Set in Rustic Walnut Finish, Suede Black

I knew it would be heavy and challenging for one person (me) to assemble. I’m in my early 70’s but was able to put it together without too much problem. I am fairly strong and was able to manhandle the mattress which for me was the hardest thing about it. Putting the bed frame onto the support rails was a heavy lift but really no problem. The kit was top notch. Everything fit perfectly and for me the directions were just fine. The kit had everything labeled and organized. It also came with extra hardware which I didn’t need. After it was all finished I was pleased. It looked nice and sat well. I doubt if I will ever sleep on it so I don’t know how the mattress feels laying on it but sitting is quit good. One nice thing about it if the mattress every goes bad all you have to do is purchase another one not the whole couch. Now I haven’t owned it long only a few gays. If something breaks I will edit the comment.

We bought this to replace a pullout couch that was getting old and wanted something for seating but also for sleeping for extra company, this is great! Bought futons for my kids when they were younger and they were the cheap kind with thin mattresses. This is nothing like that. It’s made very well, very sturdy and easy to put together, yes, it did take a couple hours to put together, but it wasn’t bad and we’re getting to be pro’s at putting together things we buy from Amazon as so many things you have to put together these days. The mattress is an inter spring mattress and is very comfortable to sit on and even more comfortable when you open it up and lay on it. The mattress is thicker than most that you can buy, which is another reason why we chose this one. We’re very happy with the purchase and would very highly recommend as it seems with the way it’s built It’s going to last a long time, even with the grandkids! The material they have for the cover seems to be a very good quality, but still plan on using a mattress pad with sheets when I let people sleep on it, also got the mattress pad that has the waterproof barrier in it just in case the grandkids happen to spill lol

The color of the wood is perfect and it’s solid! Value for what you get and how everything is packaged and set up for success of putting it together! All pieces were in the box and there was only one piece (a wooden screw cover) that was a really loose fit in the hole, but nothing a little wood glue didn’t fix! I have never seen instructions and options of watching a step by step video like the ones that Kodiak offers for this futon! Once my daughter and I out it together, the ease of folding it up and down was so smooth!! If you are looking for a solid futon frame with the ease of putting together, this is a must purchase!!!!

For months, I researched futons (for our guest room that’s being converted to my getaway) until making myself CRAZY! I ultimately selected this item because of the reputable brand and the price. I also wanted arms, a walnut finish and dark mattress.The futon arrived ahead of schedule and was carefully wrapped in three packages. Instructions, both written and the video, were straightforward and appreciated. Those accustomed to putting things together will not have problems with assembly.As mentioned in other reviews, the wood is lovely, although more gray than brown which is just fine by me. Also, the [navy color] description is misleading, as this is more akin to a peacock blue (which I like).My friend (who is quite handy) and I easily put this together, and I find it amazing that some reviewers reported going solo. Not due to difficulty, but because of needing to balance heavy pieces, etc.While assembling, we noticed the left arm was damaged. I called the folks in MN, and we had a replacement in three days. Slight inconvenience, yet good customer service/recovery.The four-star rating is only because we haven’t used it for sleeping yet. However, the futon is quite sturdy and comfortable when sitting/lying on it.I was a bit reluctant to buy something like this without “kicking the tires” so to speak, and I relied heavily on the hundreds of comments I reviewed. The overall process went well, and I’m pleased with the result.

I found the video instructions to be excellent and well put together. Paper instructions good but video was the best! Amazed at how well the parts all fit together...the bolts and the holes all lined up perfect and all parts/pieces were included along with extra hardware.The only time a second person was needed was to put the base on to the arms/rails and again when we put the mattress on.Cant say enough on how well everything fit together, color coded and numbered pieces all match up perfectly! These styles of futon are all the same and do make you lean back when sitting on them but that is normal for this type of futon and the same on all of them.Was interested to see how the springs would work in a futon mattress and they do feel comfortable and good firmness to it. Be careful when placing the mattress on the frame there is only one specific way to place the mattress down, it is labeled so just read the label on the mattress and follow it. We ordered the black suede mattress which does show lint more than other colors but feels smooth and comfortable. Only had the futon a few days and have not slept on it yet but will update review in the future.

I bought this for guest room. My granddaughter seats the night on weekends and she loves it. It's comfortable. And easy to manage.

This futon seems very well made. Took my husband about an hour to assemble with very little complaining, lol
