Skip the 6”
I mean it, skip the 6. People are blown away with what I can do with an 8” knife. I don’t trowel or use any other knife. Just a composite hawk and 8” Hyde. It’s super light weight and after a few years of use thins out and gets the flex you need. I’m now using auto taping tools but in small jobs I use this alone. I even use it spotting screws. You’ll see much flatter corners, beads and joints. The width does add a lot of stability and with the right mud you can easily learn this method. I just bought a second after owning the original for 8 years

Get rust on day 1. Fake for sure
Get rust after 1 use in the middle of the first day after 5 hours since opening.. go straight to the cheap ones for scraching jobs in the end of the day. Dont buy it!

Easy to handle and the proper stiffness time saver
I usually use a 4 and a half inch bell shape knife, just what I`m used to, most 6 in., etc are too clunky or too stiff. Tried this 8 inch knife today for the first time and have to say that its not too stiff and fits well into my hand (not a fan of the larger comfort grip series). Does a nice job, but soon be better once its worked in. Time saver, too.
