Euro Tool ALL-PURPOSE LARGE BUTANE TORCH, MPN SOL-310.00

As a fairly new jewelry maker, it was daunting to set up a home soldering station. This makes it easy and the large flame mimics most of the power one gets from larger torches at a jewelry studio. Great way to start soldering at home. Forget the smaller micro-torches (other than for fine work or specific soldering spots), this will allow you to solder most silver etc at home easily and safely. Easy to hold and easy to refill.

The torch came as promised. Average mailing time. Not fast. I filled it with butane and it lit right up. This is a replacement torch of the same exact model and size I have been using for about 5 year's. I love that it holds more gas than my small portables and it gets very hot for melting silver not enough on it's own for pouring but it can do the job with a secondary torch for good flow. Better on dry hot days. Not a good torch for very fine and petite pieces unless you are practiced. I find it a tried and true torch and recommend for jewelry making and repair.

I purchased this torch to fire metal clay due to it's large flame. It does a great job! Then I started soldering with it due to it's ease of use. Its surprising how much you can do with this torch. The only problem I've had is that it sometimes takes a few tries to light it. Perhaps it is the butane that I am using. Other than that it is great.

I read the reviews and saw that some buyers rated this torch as poor, but I bought it anyway because there were also many positive reviews -- and also because the jewelry book I'm reading recommended this torch. I'm sorry to say, this torch never worked properly at all. It was extremely difficult to get it to light the first time (took 12 to 15 "strikes" with the ignition buttons to light it), and then it stayed lit only a minute or two before the flame petered out. After that, I could not get it to light at all -- and I must have hit the ignition buttons 40 times! (And I did fuel it with triple refined butane.) I am familiar with torches and have used my little mini torch for 3 years with no problem (except that it doesn't have enough flame/heat for the bigger projects I'd wanted to use this torch for). Whoever makes this torch has serious quality control problems.Save your time and money and don't buy this torch.

I loved this torch while it lasted. It is really great for dainty jewelry metalsmithing. It worked well for daily use for about 4 months until it stopped being able to ignite even after being entirely refilled. I am hoping that it was just a fluke with this one torch because it really was great while it lasted.

I've only used it a couple of times. It works great. Just the right heat to solder silver.

I'm a jewelry designer and this torch worked great for the last 3 weeks, but today the igniter has stopped working. I have to keep trying to ignite, and after maybe 10 tries it will ignite. Called Eurotool and was told I will have to go through Amazon's supplier. They could not offer any suggestions as far as what has happened to my torch. Hoping it holds up until I can get this collection produced.

I use this torch for my silver work. If you are doing small to medium pieces of jewelry this thing performs like a champ. This torch produces a large flame on the high setting so it doesn't take long to heat up your projects. Flame is adjustable.Would recommend.

Great torch (I've used them before), more welly than a standard butane jeweller's torch, with enough heat power to solder larger pieces. Nice adjustable flame, and switch so you can leave it on until you are done. Easy to operate with one hand.Took aaaaaaages to arrive though.
