Review: Good value, great technology. - Good looking Solar powered chrono that understates the brilliant technology under its bezel. Can compete on its own merits (provide with standard straps) instead of just as an option for the Sony Wena strap. Review: Stopwatch stopped on watch - Edit: after owning and using this watch for several months, one of the indicators came loose (one that indicates that 5,10,15,etc min had passed) and got stuck in the dial that tells the seconds, making the watch stop completely. Sony support has been very unhelpful, even claiming that I caused the damage (I'm not sure how I'm supposed to have pried the indicator off without damaging the glass ...) Do not recommend Had a lot of trouble getting it to work. Left it on my window sill for a week and was annoyed that it still wouldn't start. After pressing in the buttons on the side the stopwatch started as well as the second hand, after that it worked fine. Until I tried using the stopwatch function anyway. The stopwatch kept resetting to the 17second mark. Contacted both desertcart and Sony and received a replacement. However that one was stuck at the 8 second mark. It may not be a huge issue and with a cheaper watch I wouldn't have bothered getting customer support since the stopwatch did work. I just had to remember that it starts and stops off center. However I'm not paying over £350 to have the hands stuck in the wrong place. After contacting Sony again it turns out that there is a way to manually reset the stopwatch second hand back to 0. For anyone who also has this problem, these are the instructions: Pull the crown [middle button] to right two steps. If you push and hold the stopwatch (start/stop) button [top button] for 2 seconds, the chronograph hand will go around the dial once. Press the stopwatch (reset) button [bottom button] to make the chronograph hand move, and set it to the zero position. Push and hold to speed it up. After regular use about 3 weeks in the stopwatch second hand stopped working completely on the first watch. I just returned it as previously planned, but it does make me wary about the durability. I will edit this review if the stopwatch also stops working on the second watch. The second watch is fine now except that the stopwatch minute hand (in the smaller dial) is also off center, unfortunately that can not be reset. It's only a tiny bit off though so I'm not going through the hassle again, doesn't seem worth it. Just slightly annoying. I have not been able to wear it at the moment, the pin that attaches the watch head to the watch band snapped (also not a good sign, but it might also have been my fault) and I have not been able to get it fixed because of lockdown. The actual watch: Once I figured out how to start it the watch worked perfectly. It shows the time accurately and it is fairly simple to use. It is definitely solar powered and will also draw power from movement, that or the battery is really good. I work nights and the watch had no trouble keeping power without seeing daylight for several weeks. Unfortunately the hands are not luminous. You will not be able to tell the time in the dark. The few times i did use it in the sun I did experience a little glare, which also made it difficult to tell the time, but it was never as severe as other comments described and only a mild annoyance. (May have something to do with there being little sun in the UK). Overall, it's an ok watch. However if it breaks I will not buy it again and probably go with a different brand.
